Welcome to Lautoka, Fiji’s energetic 'Sugar City'! While this coastal hub is famous for its wide streets and swaying palms, we’re here to add a splash of legal, vibrant colour to its urban landscape. Our anti-vandalism graffiti program is designed to transform the way people see street art. Instead of messy tags on shop fronts, we focus on the power of professional mural art to bring communities together. Whether you are a school looking to inspire students, a local business wanting to deter graffiti, or a youth organisation, our workshops offer a high-octane creative outlet that teaches respect and artistry. Our team of expert artists will guide you through every step, proving that when you give people a legal canvas, magic happens. Ready to make your mark?

Step by step

  1. The introduction: We kick things off with a chat about street art history and the crucial difference between illegal tagging and legal community murals.
  2. Safety first: Everyone gets geared up with masks, gloves, and protection. We explain how to handle the cans safely in the Fiji heat.
  3. Sketching the vision: Before we touch the wall, we brainstorm a positive theme that represents Lautoka's vibrant community spirit.
  4. Mastering the 'cap': Your coach shows you how different nozzles (caps) create different lines—from thin outlines to fat fills.
  5. Practising technique: You'll spend time on a practice surface, getting the hang of distance, speed, and pressure to avoid those annoying drips.
  6. Filling in the colour: Now the real fun begins! Everyone works together to fill the large sections of the mural with bold, bright colours.
  7. Adding the details: Once the base is dry, we add the highlights, shadows, and crisp outlines that make the artwork pop.
  8. The final reveal: We step back, peel away any tape, and admire the collective masterpiece that now belongs to the community.
  9. Reflective wrap-up: We end with a short discussion on how to keep Lautoka beautiful and where to find legal spots to keep creating.

Local culture

Street art in Lautoka

Lautoka is a city with a heart as big as its rugby spirit! From the bustling markets to the shadow of the sugar mill, there is an undeniable energy here. Our workshops tap into that local 'Sugar City' pride, encouraging participants to create murals that reflect the heritage and natural beauty of Fiji. We love working near the waterfront or in local community spaces where the sea breeze keeps the inspiration flowing. ✹

🎹 Fun Fact: Lautoka is known for its beautiful flowering trees like the Flamboyant and Queen's Crepe Myrtle. We often use these vibrant natural colours as inspiration for our spray-paint palettes during local sessions!

In addition to Lautoka, we also run creative sessions in Suva, Nadi, Nausori, and Labasa. Wherever you are in Fiji, we're ready to bring the paint!
