Is the spray paint safe for participants with sensitivities?

Absolutely! We use high-quality, water-based spray paint options and provide all necessary safety equipment, including masks and gloves. Our professional artists are trained to supervise participants closely, ensuring a controlled and secure environment. In the Sugar City, we prioritise a 'safety first' approach while making sure everyone has an absolute blast with their cans. Your wellbeing is our top priority during every creative session.

Where in Lautoka do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible and can host workshops at various local venues in Lautoka, from community centres to outdoor parks. If you have a specific facility in mind that is wheelchair accessible, we can bring the entire mobile studio to you. We just need a well-ventilated space (ideally outdoors) to set up our canvases and gear. We’ll handle the logistics so you can focus on the art.

How do you adapt the workshop for different ability levels?

Our artists are experienced in working with various needs, including ASD, Down Syndrome, and mobility challenges. We focus on 'ability' rather than 'disability'. By using larger caps for easier spraying and offering one-on-one guidance, we ensure every participant feels successful. We adapt our teaching style to match the energy and communication preferences of the group, ensuring a stress-free and joyful experience for everyone involved.

How long does a typical special needs workshop last?

A standard inclusive session usually lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining engagement without causing fatigue. However, we can easily shorten or lengthen the session based on the group's stamina and focus levels. We include plenty of short breaks for hydration and snacks, making sure the pace stays relaxed and fun for all.

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the very basics—how to hold the can and create simple lines—before moving on to bigger shapes. Our Lauritoka artists are there to assist every step of the way. Whether they are drawing a simple heart or a complex tag, every participant will walk away with something they are proud of.

What is the booking process and do I pay upfront?

Booking is easy and risk-free with Graffitifun. You don't need to pay anything upfront. Simply contact us with your group size and preferred dates, and we will provide a custom quote. Once the workshop is finished and you’re 100% satisfied with the experience, that’s when the payment happens. It’s all part of our commitment to providing a stress-free service for the Lautoka community.

Local culture

Lautoka, known fondly as the Sugar City due to its massive sugar mill, has a spirit as sweet and vibrant as the art we create. While the city is famous for its wide, tree-lined streets and the beautiful backdrop of the Mount Evans Range, we are bringing a new layer of urban culture to the mix. Our workshops tap into the local Fijian 'Bula' spirit—warm, welcoming, and community-focused. 🌴

Fun Fact: Did you know Lautoka is the second-largest city in Fiji? It’s the perfect hub for creativity, and we love bringing our mobile spray-paint kits to local spots near Churchill Park or the bustling market areas to spread some artistic joy!

Street art in Fiji is a growing movement, and by hosting an inclusive workshop here, you're helping Lautoka stay at the forefront of modern, accessible culture. We take inspiration from the bright tropical colours of the islands and translate them into stunning graffiti pieces. 🎨
