Is the graffiti workshop safe for participants with sensory sensitivities?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority in Suva. We use high-quality, low-odour water-based spray paints wherever possible, which are much gentler than traditional aerosols. We also provide full protective gear, including gloves and masks. Our artists are trained to maintain a secure environment, ensuring that every participant can focus entirely on their creativity without any risks.

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our Special Needs Program in Fiji is designed for all ability levels. Whether someone has never held a spray can before or has a natural flair for art, our professional artists provide step-by-step guidance. We focus on the process of expression and having fun rather than technical perfection, making it a stress-free and rewarding experience for everyone involved.

Where do the workshops take place in Suva?

We are incredibly flexible. We can host the workshop at your specific location in Suva, whether that is a community centre, school hall, or a private care facility. Alternatively, we can help find a suitable outdoor space that is wheelchair accessible and has the necessary facilities. We bring all the equipment to you, making the logistics as simple as possible.

How long does a typical special needs graffiti session last?

A standard session usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining engagement and energy without being overly tiring. However, we can easily shorten or lengthen the session to suit the specific concentration levels and physical needs of your group. We work at your pace to ensure no one feels rushed.

Are all materials included in the workshop?

Yes, we provide everything! This includes a wide array of colourful spray cans, protective clothing, masks, gloves, and the 'canvas' itself (which could be large wooden panels or individual boards). We also bring sketches and inspiration boards to help kickstart the creative process. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit of paint on!

How do you adapt the workshop for different physical or cognitive needs?

Our Suva team is experienced in adapting their teaching style. For those with limited mobility, we can set up canvases at specific heights or use lighter cans. For those who prefer a quieter environment, we can manage the group dynamics to keep noise levels low. We encourage you to share specific requirements with us beforehand so we can tailor the setup perfectly.

How do we book a session and what is the payment process?

Booking is easy! Simply reach out via our contact form or cost calculator. We don't require any upfront payment to secure your date, providing you with peace of mind. We'll discuss your group size, location, and specific needs to provide a custom quote. Once you're happy, we'll get your Suva street art adventure on the calendar!

Step by step

Initial consultation: Reach out to our Suva team to discuss the specific needs and goals of your group so we can tailor the session.
Site preparation: We arrive early to set up the protective floor coverings and secure the canvases at the perfect height for all participants.
Safety briefing: A gentle introduction to the tools, including how to wear masks and use the spray cans safely and effectively.
Design brainstorming: Our artists guide the group through some simple 'tags' and shapes to get the creative juices flowing.
First strokes: Guided by our pros, participants start applying their favourite colours to the canvas, experiencing the unique flow of spray paint.
Interactive creation: We work together on a collaborative mural or individual pieces, focusing on self-expression and sensory play.
Final touches: Our artists help add outlines or highlights to make the vibrant colours pop even more!
Photos and celebration: We wrap up by admiring the finished masterpiece—a perfect moment for group photos and big smiles.
Clean up: We handle the entire pack-up, leaving your Suva location exactly as we found it, except for the new amazing art!

Good to know

Our workshops are built around flexibility and safety. A typical session lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours, but we can easily adjust this to match the energy levels of your group. We provide all the necessary kit, including professional-grade masks, gloves, and aprons to keep everyone clean and safe. 🛡️

We keep our group sizes manageable to ensure every participant gets plenty of one-on-one attention from our professional artists. No matter the ability level, we focus on a 'can-do' attitude. If you have mobility concerns, we can arrange for adjustable canvases or ground-level painting stations. Safety is our top priority, and we always ensure proper ventilation and high-quality materials are used.

Local culture

Suva is a city blooming with culture, from the historic Fiji Museum to the vibrant stalls of the Suva Municipal Market. Our workshops tap into this local 'Bula spirit', bringing a modern, urban twist to the capital's rich artistic tradition. We love drawing inspiration from the tropical colours of the Pacific—think hibiscus reds and ocean blues—and translating them into street art. 🌺

Fun Fact: Did you know that Suva is one of the wettest cities in the region? Don't worry, though—we always have a 'Plan B' for our workshops, ensuring that whether the sun is shining or the rain is pouring, your creative session stays dry and delightful!

Pricing

Every group in Suva is unique, which is why we don't have a 'one size fits all' price tag. Costs depend on the number of participants, the location of the event, and the specific materials required. 💰

The best part? You don't have to pay a penny upfront! We believe in our service so much that we offer 100% satisfaction and a 'pay afterwards' policy. Request a free, no-obligation quote today and let's start planning an unforgettable experience for your group!
