What is the best age for a graffiti birthday party?

We usually recommend our graffiti birthday parties for legends aged 6 and up. Younger kids might find the spray cans a bit tricky to press, but we can always help them out! For the older kids and teens, we dial up the techniques to keep it challenging and cool. It’s a massive hit for primary schoolers and high schoolers alike because everyone loves seeing their name in bright colours!

Is it safe for kids to use spray paint?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep those school uniforms or party clothes clean. We use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier for kids to control, and our professional artists supervise every single spray. We also prefer to work in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large open spaces to ensure everyone breathes easy while getting creative.

What should the kids wear to the workshop?

While we provide protective overalls, accidents can happen when kids are having this much fun! We always suggest that guests wear 'play clothes' and old sneakers that you don't mind getting a bit of 'art' on. It's better to be safe than sorry when you're dealing with professional-grade spray paint and enthusiastic young artists in the heat of the moment.

Do the children get to keep their artwork?

The best part is that everyone gets to take home their own masterpiece! Each child works on their own high-quality canvas or board during the session. By the time the party is wrapping up, the paint is usually touch-dry and ready to be whisked away to take pride of place on a bedroom wall. It's the ultimate party favour that they actually made themselves!

Do the kids need any previous drawing or art skills?

Not at all! Our professional artists start with the absolute basics. We'll show the kids how to hold the can, how to control the lines, and how to create cool effects like drips and fades. Whether they are a budding Picasso or have never picked up a paintbrush, we guarantee they’ll walk away with something they are truly proud of. It’s all about having a go!

How long does a typical graffiti party last?

Typically, our standard Melbourne birthday workshops run for about 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us plenty of time for a safety briefing, some practice runs on the 'demo wall', and then the main event where they create their canvases. If you've got a massive crew or want to do a giant collaborative mural as well, we can easily extend the session to suit your plans.

What happens if it rains on the day of the party?

Melbourne weather can be a bit 'four seasons in one day,' can't it? We always recommend having a backup undercover area or a garage space just in case. If the weather is looking properly rubbish, we can usually pivot to an indoor venue or use our pop-up marquees. Because we have a team of backup artists, we are super flexible and will always try our best to make the magic happen!

Step by step

Pick your date: Choose your preferred Saturday or Sunday and reach out to us to check if our local Melbourne artists are free.
Choose your spot: Decide if you want us to come to your backyard, a local park, or if you'd like to use one of our partner studio spaces.
Safety first: On the day, we start by getting everyone suited up in masks and overalls so nobody goes home with blue hair!
The basics: Our artists demonstrate 'can control'—teaching the kids how to make thin lines, fat dots, and funky fades.
Practice run: We let the kids loose on a practice wall to get the 'feel' for the spray before they start their real project.
Sketching: We help the kids sketch out their names or a cool character using specialized graffiti markers or light spray.
The masterpiece: It’s go-time! The kids fill in their designs with a huge range of bright colours and add those final outlines.
The reveal: We do a group photo with all the finished canvases—this is the perfect time for the parents to get those 'Gram-worthy shots.
Take it home: Once touch-dry, the kids take their canvases home to show off to the whole family!
