Is the spray paint safe for children to use?

While we love the creative messy vibes of street art, we take safety seriously. All Sydney birthday parties include protective overalls, gloves, and masks. We use low-odour, professional-grade spray paint and conduct sessions in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated workshops. Our artists provide a safety briefing before anyone touches a can, ensuring the kids have a blast without any worries. Safety is our top priority!

How long does a typical birthday workshop last?

The sweet spot for a Sydney graffiti party is usually around 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives the kids enough time to learn the basic techniques, practice their 'tags' on practice walls, and then complete their final masterpiece on an individual canvas. We find this timeframe keeps the energy high and the focus sharp without the little legends getting too tired. It fits perfectly between cake and presents!

Do the kids get to keep what they create?

One of the best parts of a Graffitifun party is that every guest gets to take home their own custom canvas! Forget plastic party bags that end up in the bin; these are genuine pieces of bedroom decor created by the kids themselves. We provide all the materials, including the canvases, spray cans, and safety gear, so you don't need to bring a thing except the birthday cake!

What is the best age for a graffiti birthday party?

We recommend our graffiti workshops for children aged 6 and up. At this age, they generally have the hand strength to press the spray nozzles and the focus to follow the artist's instructions. For younger kids, we can adjust the techniques to be more about 'free-style' fun. It’s a fantastic way for primary and high-school-aged kids to express their individuality in a controlled, legal environment.

Where in Sydney do the workshops take place?

We are extremely flexible! We can host the event at one of our partner urban art locations across Sydney, or we can bring the party to you. If you have a backyard or a garage with good ventilation, we can set up our mobile boards. We also work with various community centres and parks. Just let us know your suburb, and we will find the perfect spot!

Do the kids need any previous art experience?

Not at all! Our professional Sydney street artists are experts at teaching absolute beginners. We start with the basics—how to hold the can, how to control the pressure, and how to create clean lines. By the end of the session, even the kids who claim they 'can't draw' are amazed at the professional-looking street art they've produced. It’s all about confidence and fun!

What happens if it rains on the day of the party?

We know Sydney weather can be a bit unpredictable. If you've booked an outdoor session and rain is forecast, we usually try to move to a covered location or one of our indoor studio partners. We always have backup plans and backup artists ready to go, so you can rest easy knowing the birthday bash will happen regardless of a bit of 'liquid sunshine'.

Step by step

Pick your date: Choose a time that suits your Sydney birthday schedule and check our availability online.
Choose your spot: Decide if you want to come to our street art studio or have our crew set up at your place.
Safety first: On the day, we kit every kid out in protective suits, masks, and gloves to keep the paint on the art and off the clothes. 🧤
Learn the basics: Our pro artists demonstrate 'can control'—teaching the kids about distance, pressure, and nozzle types.
Practice run: The kids get to practice their 'tag' or nickname on a practice wall to get the feel of the spray. 💨
Design the masterpiece: We help the birthday crew sketch out their main design on high-quality canvases.
The big spray: This is where the magic happens! Kids use a rainbow of colours to bring their graffiti art to life. 🎨
The reveal: We do a final 'outline' and 'highlight' to make those colours pop like a professional mural.
Take it home: Once the paint is dry, the kids take their canvases home—the coolest party favour in Sydney! 🏆

Local culture

Sydney isn't just about the Opera House; it's home to some of the most vibrant street art in the Southern Hemisphere! From the iconic murals in Newtown and Enmore to the hidden gems in the Inner West, Sydney's urban landscape is a massive outdoor gallery. Our workshops tap into this local culture, giving kids a chance to feel like they are part of the city's creative heartbeat. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that the famous "I Have a Dream" mural on King Street in Newtown is one of the most photographed pieces of street art in Australia? Sydney has a long history of using graffiti to tell stories and brighten up the city streets! 🇦🇺
