What exactly is live painting at an event?

Live painting is a dynamic performance where our artist creates a large-scale graffiti mural from scratch during your event in Mechelen. It serves as both entertainment and decor. Unlike a static mural, the 'live' element adds energy as guests get to see the techniques, smell the fresh paint (with low-odour cans), and witness the transformation of a blank space into a masterpiece.

Can the artwork be customised to a specific theme?

Absolutely! We love it when the artwork reflects your specific theme, brand colours, or story. Before the event, we’ll discuss your vision and create a sketch for your approval. Whether it’s a modern piece for a tech launch near the Grote Markt or something classic and colourful for a wedding, we tailor every stroke to your needs.

Is live painting safe for indoor venues?

Safety is our priority. We typically use low-odour, water-based spray paints for indoor events in Mechelen to ensure there are no harsh fumes. We also provide professional floor protection and optional partitions to keep the surrounding area pristine. Our artists are experienced in working in diverse environments, from high-end hotels to industrial warehouses.

How long does a live painting session last?

We are flexible! Most live painting sessions last between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the complexity of the design and the duration of your event. We can pace the work so that the big 'reveal' happens right at the climax of your party or conference, ensuring maximum engagement from your guests.

Do we get to keep the finished artwork?

Usually, yes! If we paint on a mobile wooden wall or a large canvas, the artwork is yours to keep. Many of our Mechelen clients choose to display the finished piece in their office lobby or community centre as a permanent reminder of the event. We can even help arrange transport for the finished work.

Are you only available for events inside Mechelen?

Not at all. While we love Mechelen, our network of artists covers all of Belgium, including Brussels, Antwerp, and Ghent. We have backup artists on standby to ensure that your event always has a professional ready to perform, regardless of any last-minute changes. We pride ourselves on reliability and professionalism.

Step by step

Initial spark: You reach out to us with your event date and a rough idea of what you’re looking for in Mechelen.
The blueprint: We discuss your theme, branding, or vibe. Our artists create a digital sketch so you know exactly what to expect.
Setup & prep: On the day, we arrive early to prep the space with protective flooring and professional lighting if needed.
The first stroke: As your guests arrive, the artist begins the outline. This immediately creates a focal point and sparks conversation.
Adding layers: Watch the colours pop! The artist adds depth and detail, interacting with the crowd and explaining the process.
The final reveal: The mural is completed just as the event reaches its peak, providing a stunning backdrop for photos.
The handover: We clean up the station, leaving nothing but a beautiful piece of art. The mural is now yours to keep or display.

Local culture

Mechelen is a city that breathes history, but it’s also becoming a vibrant hub for contemporary street art. From the iconic murals decorating the 'Mechelen Muurt' route to the creative energy found in the Hanswijk district, this city knows the value of visual storytelling. By choosing a live painting performance here, you’re tapping into that local creative pulse. Our artists draw inspiration from the city's unique mix of medieval charm and modern innovation.

Fun Fact: Did you know Mechelen is famous for its carillon (bell) school? Just as the bells create a symphony for the ears, our live painting creates a visual symphony for the eyes, perfectly fitting the city's artistic heritage! 🔔 🖌️
