Do I need to have prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely no prior experience is needed! Our Mechelen training is designed specifically to take you from a complete beginner to a confident street art educator. We start with the basics of nozzle control and safety, gradually moving into complex layering and mural design. You will leave the session with the practical skills and the pedagogical confidence to lead your own classroom graffiti projects immediately.

Is the spray paint safe to use in a school environment?

We take safety very seriously. During the session, we provide high-quality FFP3 respirators, gloves, and protective overalls to ensure you are not exposed to fumes or paint. Our professional artists also teach you how to set up a safe workspace for your students, including ventilation requirements and proper handle-and-storage protocols for aerosol cans, ensuring a worry-free environment for everyone involved.

How long does the teacher training session last?

The workshop typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours, but we offer extended professional development modules if your team wants a deeper dive into street art history or advanced mural techniques. We are flexible and can adapt the timing to fit your inset day schedule or afternoon staff meeting. Just let us know your requirements, and we will make it work perfectly!

Are all materials included in the price?

Yes! We provide all the necessary professional equipment, including a wide range of premium spray cans, various 'caps' (nozzles) for different effects, protective gear, and practice surfaces. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little dusty. We even provide digital resources you can take back to your school to help with lesson planning.

Can you host the training session at our own school?

You certainly can! While we have a dedicated training spot in Mechelen, our mobile team of artists can bring the entire 'street art lab' directly to your school grounds. This is a great way to assess your specific school walls for potential mural projects and train your staff in the exact environment where they will be teaching. It saves on travel time for your team too!

How does the payment process work for schools?

We believe in complete transparency and trust. You do not need to pay anything upfront when you book your Mechelen teacher training. We send the invoice after the workshop has been successfully completed and you are 100% satisfied with the experience. This 'pay later' policy ensures that you can book with total peace of mind for your school's budget.

What is the cost for a group of teachers?

Because the price depends on the number of staff members attending and the location (our studio or your school), we provide custom quotes. Generally, prices range between €25 and €55 per person. For larger staff groups or multi-day professional development sessions, we offer significant discounts. Local culture

Mechelen is a city that beautifully bridges the gap between historical grandeur and modern urban creativity. While many know it for the St. Rumbold's Cathedral, the city has been quietly building a fantastic reputation for street art through projects like 'Mechelen Muurt'. This initiative has seen world-class artists transform dull walls into vibrant masterpieces across the city centre. During our art teacher training in Mechelen, we draw inspiration from these local landmarks to help you understand how street art can build community and pride in a local area. 🎨

Fun fact: Mechelen is often called the 'Moon-extinguishers' (Maneblussers) city. Imagine the incredible stencil art projects your students could create based on that local legend! 🌕
