Do I need any prior art experience to join the pop-up?

Not at all! Our Chongqing pop-up events are designed for everyone, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists will guide you through the basics of can control, lettering, and filling techniques. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at what you can create. We provide a supportive, high-energy environment where the only goal is to have fun and try something new.

Is the workshop safe for beginners and kids?

We take safety seriously! We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks, to ensure you stay clean and safe while painting. Our paints are professional-grade, and our instructors are trained to manage the equipment safely. In a bustling city like Chongqing, we also ensure our pop-up sites are well-ventilated and secure for all participants. Your well-being is our top priority while you unleash your inner artist.

What should I wear to the graffiti event?

Definitely. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of 'artistic' character on. While we provide protective suits and gloves, spray paint can sometimes find its way onto your trainers or sleeves. Think casual and ready-to-move! If you’re coming from a day of sightseeing at Hongya Cave, just make sure you're in gear that allows you to move your arms freely.

How long does the graffiti experience typically last?

Most of our urban pop-up workshop experiences last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time to go through the history of the craft, learn the essential techniques, and then spend the bulk of the time actually painting your masterpiece. It’s the perfect length to fit into a busy Chongqing weekend or a corporate team-building afternoon without feeling rushed.

How much does a pop-up graffiti event cost in Chongqing?

Because our Chongqing pop-ups are highly customisable, prices vary based on the group size, the venue, and the specific materials needed for your project. Whether you are a small group of friends or a large corporate brand activation, we offer competitive rates. You don't even have to pay upfront—we believe in our service so much that you pay after the workshop. Request a quote today for a tailored estimate!

Do I get to take my artwork home afterwards?

Usually, you’ll be painting on high-quality canvases or specially constructed temporary walls. The best part? You often get to take your artwork home! It’s a fantastic, unique souvenir of your time in Chongqing. For larger corporate events or festivals, we can also arrange for a communal mural that stays on-site as a lasting piece of street art history. We provide all the cans, caps, and canvases you'll need.

Can I book a private pop-up for my own group?

Absolutely! While we love hosting public pop-ups, we also specialise in private bookings for bachelor parties, birthdays, or brand launches. If you have a specific location in mind in Chongqing—perhaps a rooftop with a view of the Yangtze—we can bring the entire workshop setup to you. Our backup artist system ensures that your event will never be cancelled, providing you with total peace of mind for your special day.

The experience

Why choose a Graffitifun pop-up in the heart of China's most vertical city? Because we turn the ordinary into something extraordinary! Here’s why our workshop is the highlight of the week:

Unleash your inner rebel: Safely explore the world of street art without the legal worries! 🎤
Stress-busting fun: There is something incredibly satisfying about the 'hiss' of a spray can and seeing instant results.
Expert guidance: Work side-by-side with professional graffiti artists who live and breathe the culture.
Zero risk: We don't ask for money upfront—pay only once you've had an absolute blast.
Unique souvenirs: Create something tangible that you can actually keep, way better than a standard postcard! 🎁
Perfect for any occasion: From kids' parties to company events, we adapt to your vibe.

Step by step

Arrival & intro: Meet our local artists at the pop-up site and get a quick intro to the vibrant world of street art.
Safety first: Get kitted out in your protective gear, including masks and gloves, to keep the paint on the canvas and off your clothes.
Concept sketching: Grab a marker and jot down your ideas. Our pros will help you refine your tag or piece before you touch a can.
The basics: Learn how to hold the spray can, control the pressure, and swap 'caps' for different line widths and effects.
Outline your vision: Start on your canvas or wall by sketching out the 'bones' of your graffiti design under expert guidance.
Fill & fade: Master the art of the fill-in. Learn how to blend colours and create those iconic gradients that make street art pop.
Sharpening edges: Use 'cutting' techniques to crisp up your lines and add highlights that make your work look professional.
Final reveal: Step back, admire your handiwork, and take some epic photos of your creation against the Chongqing skyline.
Wrap up: Pack up your masterpiece and head off with your new skills and some serious bragging rights!

Local culture

Chongqing is a city that defies gravity, and its street art scene is no different. With its labyrinthine streets and futuristic bridges, the city provides a stunning backdrop for creative expression. We draw inspiration from the famous Huangjueping Graffiti Street, one of the largest clusters of street art in the world, to bring that same energy to our pop-up events. Our workshops often incorporate local motifs, from the spicy kick of hotpot to the iconic transit lines that weave through buildings.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Huangjueping was transformed into a giant canvas in 2007, involving over 800 artists and students who painted over 50,000 square metres of wall space? It's the ultimate inspiration for our Chongqing sessions! 🏆

When you join our pop-up, you're not just painting; you're connecting with the urban soul of a city that's constantly evolving. We love using the misty, atmospheric vibes of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers as a mood board for our colour palettes. Whether we're set up near a bustling shopping district or a quiet riverside spot, the "Bayu" culture always shines through in the art we create together. ✨

Pricing

Our pop-up event pricing is as flexible as our art! Because every event in Chongqing is unique—ranging from rooftop parties to brand activations in shopping malls—we provide custom quotes to give you the best value. Whether you're looking for a budget-friendly team building or a premium VIP experience, we can scale our setup to match.
