Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to keep the kids safe and their clothes clean. Our instructors are professional artists trained in managing large groups of children, ensuring a controlled environment where the only thing that gets wild is their imagination. We use low-solvent spray paint whenever possible to minimise fumes.

Do we need a specific space at the school for the workshop?

Ideally, we love working outdoors in the fresh air of Riga! However, we are experts at adapting. If you have a well-ventilated indoor space like a gym or a spacious art room, we can set up there using protective floor coverings. If the Latvian weather takes a turn for the worse, we always have a plan B to ensure the workshop goes ahead without a hitch.

What is the ideal age for a graffiti workshop?

We usually recommend our primary school workshops for kids aged 6 to 12. At this age, they have the motor skills to handle a spray can and the boundless creativity to really enjoy the process. We tailor our teaching style to be age-appropriate, focusing more on shapes and colours for the younger ones and more technique for the older kids in the group.

How long does a typical school session last?

Standard workshops for primary schools in Riga typically last between 1.5 to 2 hours. This is the 'sweet spot' for keeping young minds engaged without them getting over-tired. We find this timeframe allows for the perfect balance of learning the history of street art, practicing basic techniques on plastic wrap, and Completing their final masterpiece on a real canvas.

Can the students take their artwork home?

Absolutely! While we love doing group murals, for school workshops, we usually provide each student with their own high-quality canvas. This means every child gets to take their own unique piece of street art home to show their parents. It’s a fantastic way for them to remember the day and feel proud of what they’ve achieved in the heart of Riga.

Do the children need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the very basics—how to hold the can, how to control the pressure, and how to make simple lines. Many of the best pieces we see come from kids who have never even picked up a paintbrush before. It’s all about confidence and having fun with the colours!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your pupils in the Latvian capital? It’s more than just spraying paint; it's a unique educational tool that resonates with kids in a way traditional subjects sometimes can't. Here is why schools in Riga love working with us:

Boosts confidence: Seeing a vibrant piece of art appear from a can gives kids an incredible sense of achievement. 🎤
Total inclusivity: You don't need to be a "pro drawer" to enjoy graffiti — it's accessible to every child, regardless of ability.
Professional vibes: Our artists aren't just teachers; they are active street artists who bring real-world passion to the classroom. 🔥
Safe & Tidy: We handle all the prep and clean-up. Your school stays clean while the kids get creative! 🎉
Team building: Collaborative projects teach students how to work together to create something bigger than themselves.
No risk booking: With backup artists and no upfront costs, your school event is in safe hands.

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy chat about the history of graffiti and how it evolved into the vibrant street art we see in Riga today.
Safety briefing: Kids get suited up in their protective gear while we explain the "golden rules" of using spray cans safely and respectfully.
The first spray: Under the guidance of our pros, students practice their first lines and dots on a practice "wall" to get a feel for the pressure.
Sketching the design: Everyone grabs a marker to sketch their ideas onto their personal canvas, focusing on bold shapes and cool characters.
Colour explosion: This is the best part! Students choose from a rainbow of professional spray cans to fill in their designs with vibrant gradients.
The finishing touch: We teach the kids how to add "outlines" and "highlights" to make their artwork pop and look like professional street art.
The big reveal: We line up all the canvases for a mini-exhibition and a group photo to celebrate everyone's creative achievements.
Takeaway art: Once the paint is dry, the kids take their masterpieces home, ready to hang on their bedroom walls!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Riga is a city where history meets modern creativity, and its street art scene is no exception. From the massive "Together" mural on Tallinas iela to the hidden gems in the Spīķeri Quarter, the city provides the perfect backdrop for young artists to get inspired. Latvia has a rich tradition of visual arts, and we love showing students how graffiti fits into that cultural tapestry. We often chat with the kids about local Riga landmarks and how they might reimagine them using bold, "Latvian-inspired" colours.

Fun Fact: Riga is home to some of the largest street art murals in the Baltics, some covering entire 5-storey apartment blocks! Our workshops give kids the skills they need to imagine making their own giant mark on the world. 🎨

Pricing

We believe that every child in Riga should have the chance to be creative, so we keep our pricing flexible and fair. 🎨

Our workshop prices typically range from €18 to €38 per student. This depends on the total number of participants, the duration of the session, and whether you want individual canvases or a large communal mural for the school wall.
