Is the workshop safe for primary school children?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We use high-quality spray paints and provide all primary school students with protective gear, including gloves and masks. All sessions are led by experienced professional artists who specialise in teaching children. We ensure the environment is well-ventilated and that children follow strict safety guidelines while having a blast and expressing their creativity safely.

What should the students wear on the day?

We recommend that children wear old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on. While we provide protective overalls or aprons, graffiti can be a messy business! It’s all part of the fun, but it's best to be prepared. We'll handle everything else, including masks and gloves, so the kids can focus entirely on their artistic masterpieces.

How long does the graffiti session last?

A typical primary school workshop in Daugavpils lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of basic techniques, and plenty of hands-on spray painting time. We find this duration is the 'sweet spot' for keeping younger children engaged and excited without them getting overly tired or losing focus.

Do the children need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, especially beginners. Our artists are experts at breaking down complex street art techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Whether a student is a naturally gifted illustrator or has never held a spray can before, we guarantee they will create something they are proud of by the end of the session.

Where in Daugavpils do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop outdoors at a location of your choice, or we can bring the art to your school grounds using mobile boards or cellophane 'walls' stretched between posts. If the weather in Latvia turns grey, we can also discuss indoor options using water-based, low-odour paints, ensuring the creative energy keeps flowing regardless of the forecast.

What do the students get to take home?

Each student typically gets to create their own individual piece on a canvas or wooden board to take home. Additionally, we often facilitate a large-scale collaborative mural where the whole class works together. This encourages teamwork and leaves the school with a fantastic, colourful reminder of their collective creativity. It's a brilliant way to brighten up any school environment!

Physical & creative: It’s a great way to get kids moving and thinking outside the box (and the classroom!). 🏆

Looking for something different? We also do kids parties and festival workshops! Let's get creative! 🎉

Step by step

Introduction & safety: We start with a high-energy intro and a vital safety briefing so everyone knows how to handle the gear properly. 🎨
Sketching the vision: Students grab paper and pencils to brainstorm their designs, focusing on letters and characters. ✨
The artist demo: Our pro graffiti artist shows the kids how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create different effects. 🎤
Practice run: The children get a feel for the spray cans by practicing lines and dots on a practice wall or board. 🔥
Outline & fill: It's time to go big! Students start outlining their main designs and filling them with vibrant colours. 🏆
Adding the details: We teach the kids how to add "highlights" and "shadows" to make their artwork really pop. 💪
Final tag: Every artist needs a signature! Students add their unique tag or nickname to their masterpiece. 🎉
Group photo: We gather everyone in front of the finished wall for a massive celebratory photo of the class's hard work. 📸
Clean up & wrap: We tidy up all the gear, and students get to show off their individual artworks to their peers! ✨

Our workshops are fully mobile and we bring everything needed for a successful art session. We usually suggest a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours for primary school groups to keep energy levels high. Local culture

Daugavpils is a city with a rich, multi-layered history, and its urban landscape provides the perfect backdrop for a modern art revolution! From the historic fortress to the industrial edges of the city, there is inspiration everywhere. Latvia's "second city" has a growing appreciation for contemporary art, and we love tapping into that local energy. We often encourage students to take inspiration from the colours of the Daugava River or the unique architecture of the Church Hill.

Fun Fact: Did you know Daugavpils is the birthplace of the world-famous artist Mark Rothko? While he’s known for abstract expressionism, we like to think he would have loved the bold, emotive power of modern graffiti! 🎨

By introducing street art to schools in Daugavpils, we’re helping the next generation of Latvians contribute to their city’s evolving cultural identity. We also offer workshops in other Latvian hubs like Riga and Liepaja!

Pricing

We believe every child should have the chance to be an artist, which is why we offer flexible pricing to suit your school's budget. Our primary school workshops in Daugavpils typically range from €18 to €38 per student. 💶

The final price depends on the number of participants, the duration of the workshop, and the specific materials requested (such as individual canvases for everyone to take home). Because every school project is unique, we recommend getting in touch for a tailored experience.
