How long does a typical university graffiti workshop last?

Most university workshops in Daugavpils run for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. This timeframe provides the perfect balance between learning the essential spray-painting techniques and having enough time to complete a large-scale mural or individual canvases. If you have a specific schedule to stick to between lectures, we can easily adapt the timing to fit your university event's needs.

Do we need any prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our professional street artists will guide you through everything from how to hold the can to advanced shading techniques. Whether you are a fine arts student or studying engineering, you'll find the process intuitive and incredibly fun. It’s all about expressing your individual style and having a great time with your fellow students.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything you need to create your masterpiece! This includes a wide variety of high-quality spray paint colours, professional-grade masks, protective gloves, and overall suits to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or temporary walls. You just need to show up in comfortable clothing and bring your enthusiasm—we handle the messy parts and the logistics.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks and nitrile gloves to all participants. Our workshops are ideally held in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large, airy indoor venues. Our instructors provide a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can, ensuring everyone knows how to use the equipment responsibly while having maximum fun.

Can you host the workshop directly on our campus?

Absolutely! While we love hosting groups at our partner spots in Daugavpils, we are fully mobile. We can bring the entire graffiti experience directly to your university campus, student union building, or a local park. We use specialised mobile graffiti walls and floor protection to ensure we leave the site exactly as we found it—just with a lot more colourful memories!

What is the maximum group size for a student event?

We are highly flexible! We can accommodate small student societies of 10 people or large-scale university festivals with over 100 participants. For larger groups, we bring in additional professional artists and set up multiple 'stations' to ensure everyone gets plenty of hands-on painting time and personal guidance. No group is too big or too small for a Graffitifun session.

What happens if it rains on the day of our outdoor workshop?

Daugavpils weather can be unpredictable, but we always have a Plan B. If we are scheduled for an outdoor session and it rains, we can often move to a covered outdoor area or utilize an indoor space with proper ventilation. Alternatively, we can reschedule the event to a better day. We have backup artists and flexible booking to ensure your student event goes ahead smoothly.

How do we book a workshop for our student society?

Booking is simple and student-friendly. You can use our online Cost Calculator for an instant estimate or send us an enquiry via our contact form. We don't require upfront payments, which makes it easier for student unions to process the admin. Once we've agreed on the date, time, and location, your spot is secured, and you pay only after the workshop is finished.

The experience

Stress relief: Nothing beats the satisfying "hiss" of a spray can to forget about exams and deadlines. 🔥
Unbeatable bonding: Creating a massive mural together builds stronger connections than any standard student night out.
Instagram gold: Your social feed will thank you—graffiti workshops provide the ultimate vibrant backdrop for photos. 📸
Skill building: Learn genuine artistic techniques from professional street artists who live and breathe the culture.
Professional setup: We handle all the logistics, from masks to paint, so you can focus entirely on the art.
Zero risk: With our "no cancellation" backup artist policy and pay-after-service model, your event is in safe hands. 🏆

Step by step

The intro & sketch: We kick things off with a brief history of street art and a safety demo. Then, you'll grab a marker and sketch your initial ideas on paper.
Choosing your palette: Pick your weapons! Select from a massive range of spray can colours to match your university's branding or your own personal vibe.
Mastering the nozzle: Our pros show you how to control the spray, from thin 'skinny' lines for detail to 'fat' caps for filling in large areas quickly.
First strokes: Practice your hand-eye coordination on the wall. You'll learn how distance and speed affect the paint flow and texture.
Filling and fading: Learn the secrets of the 'fade'—blending two colours together seamlessly to create that professional 3D gradient look.
Outlining & highlights: This is where the magic happens. We'll show you how to add sharp outlines and 'shines' to make your graffiti pop off the wall.
Character & style: Add those final artistic flourishes, tags, and drips that give your piece its unique personality.
The big reveal: Step back and admire the collective masterpiece. It’s the perfect moment for a group photo with your finished work!
Cleanup & wrap-up: We handle the recycling of the cans and the pack-down, leaving you to head off to the student bar with some serious bragging rights.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Daugavpils has always been a city of art—after all, it’s the birthplace of the legendary Mark Rothko! While Rothko explored abstract expressionism, we’re here to help you explore the modern language of the streets. From the industrial vibes near the Fortress to the creative energy of the university district, Daugavpils is a hidden gem for urban exploration. Our workshops tap into this local creative energy, offering a fresh, modern way to engage with the city's artistic heritage.

Fun Fact: Daugavpils is home to the world-renowned Rothko Museum, but did you know the city also hosts various street art 'jams' where local talent transforms grey walls into colourful landmarks? 🏰 💪
