Do I need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely not! Our Daugavpils pop-up workshops are designed for everyone from total beginners to closet creatives. Our professional artists lead you through every step, from basic can control to intricate detailing. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve in just a couple of hours with the right guidance. We focus on fun and expression rather than perfection, so just bring your enthusiasm and let us handle the rest!

What materials are included in the workshop?

We’ve got you covered! Graffitifun provides all the necessary professional gear, including high-quality spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective masks, gloves, and overalls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or surfaces you'll be painting on. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on—even with the protective gear, it's better to be safe!

How long does a typical pop-up workshop last?

Our pop-up events in Daugavpils are incredibly flexible. While a standard session usually lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours, we can adapt the timing to fit your specific event schedule. This timeframe allows for a brief safety intro, a demo of techniques, plenty of practice time, and the creation of your final masterpiece. It's the perfect length to stay energised and inspired without feeling rushed.

Is the spray paint safe to use for everyone?

Safety is our top priority. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paints and provide all participants with professional-grade protective masks and gloves. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas to ensure everyone breathes easy while they work. Additionally, our experienced artists supervise the session at all times, making sure everyone handles the equipment correctly and safely. You're in good hands with the Graffitifun team!

What is the maximum group size for a pop-up event?

The more the merrier! We can accommodate anything from small private groups to large-scale public events. Because we have a large roster of backup artists and a deep inventory of supplies, we can scale our setup to meet your needs. Whether it's a small gathering of 10 or a massive crowd of 100+, we ensure everyone get hands-on time with the cans. Contact us for specific capacity details.

What is your booking and payment policy?

We believe in a stress-free booking experience, which is why we don't require any upfront payment for your Daugavpils workshop. You can settle the invoice after the event has taken place and you're 100% satisfied with the experience. We also have backup artists on standby to ensure that your event goes ahead no matter what. It’s all about making your event planning as smooth as possible.

Can we keep the artwork we create?

While we focus on the workshop experience, the artwork created is yours to keep! Depending on the setup (like individual canvases or a shared mural), we can arrange for the pieces to stay with you. For pop-up events, these canvases make fantastic mementos or office decorations. If we are painting a temporary wall, we make sure to take high-resolution photos so your art lives on digitally forever!

Stress-free planning: We bring everything! From the paint to the protective gear, we handle the mess and the logistics. 💪

Reliable pros: With our backup artist policy and years of experience, your event is in the safest hands in the industry. ✨

Step by step

The warm-up: We start with a quick introduction to graffiti culture and a safety briefing to get everyone comfortable with the gear.
Sketching your vision: Grab a marker and jot down your ideas on paper first. Our artists help you refine your design for the best results.
Nozzle knowledge: Learn the difference between fat caps and skinny caps. You'll practice making lines, dots, and fades on a practice surface.
Outline action: Once you're confident, you'll start your main piece by sketching the basic shapes with a light-coloured spray can.
Fill it in: This is where the magic happens! Use a variety of vibrant colours to fill your letters or characters with bold sweeps.
Shadows and 3D: Our pros show you how to add depth and dimension using shadows, giving your work that 'popping' effect.
Refining the lines: Use a high-contrast colour (usually black or white) to sharpen your outlines and make the piece stand out.
The finishing highlights: Add those final 'sparkles' and highlights to make your artwork truly shine under the Daugavpils sun.
Group photo and high-fives: Celebrate your creation with a group shot before you head off with your brand-new skills!

Local culture

Daugavpils is a city defined by its impressive brick architecture and the legendary Mark Rothko Art Centre, making it the perfect backdrop for a modern urban art experience. There is a deep-rooted appreciation for visual expression here, and our pop-up workshops aim to celebrate that creative spirit. We love bringing our setup to different corners of the city, from the historic fortress area to the bustling local squares. 🎨

Fun Fact: Daugavpils is the birthplace of the world-renowned abstract expressionist Mark Rothko. While he was known for his massive colour fields, we like to think he’d enjoy the bold, layered colours of a fresh graffiti tag!

Our events are more than just a lesson; they are a celebration of Daugavpils' evolving urban culture. We respect the local history while adding a fresh, colourful chapter to it through your creativity. ✨
