Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority for primary school workshops in Santo Domingo. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls. Additionally, we use low-odour spray paint specifically designed to be safer for younger users. Our professional artists are expert facilitators who supervise the children closely throughout the session, ensuring every student has a fun and secure creative experience while they learn the ropes of street art.

Do the students need to have prior drawing or painting skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the very basics, like how to hold a spray can and control the nozzle. Our artists guide the kids through simple exercises before they start on their main masterpiece. By the end of the day in Santo Domingo, you'll be amazed at how confident and skilled these young artists become, regardless of their starting point!

What should the students wear on the day of the workshop?

We recommend that students wear old clothes and comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on. While we provide protective overalls and gloves, graffiti can be a messy business when kids are having this much fun! It’s best to be prepared so everyone can focus on being creative without worrying about their school uniform or favourite outfits. Let's get messy for the sake of art!

How long does a typical school workshop session last?

A typical primary school workshop in Santo Domingo lasts between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This includes the safety briefing, the technique practice, and the creation of the final artwork. We can easily adjust the timing to fit into your school’s timetable or specific lesson blocks. Whether it's a morning intensive or an afternoon creative blast, we’ll make sure the schedule works perfectly for your students and staff.

Do we need to have a specific wall available at the school?

We can work virtually anywhere! If your school has a suitable outdoor wall or a large playground space, we can set up there. If not, we often use large wooden panels or individual canvases that we bring with us. This means the students can create something permanent for the school grounds or something they can take home. We’ll discuss the best location options with you during the booking process.

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

Graffiti is a fantastic way to teach kids about teamwork, self-expression, and respect for public spaces. Our Santo Domingo workshops are highly interactive and boost confidence by showing children they can create something large-scale and impressive. It’s also an excellent way to discuss the history of art and the difference between street art and vandalism, making it a well-rounded educational experience that sticks with them!

Local culture

Santo Domingo, the vibrant heart of the Tsáchila province, is a city full of energy and colour! Its lush tropical surroundings and bustling atmosphere provide the perfect backdrop for a creative explosion. We love bringing our workshops here because the local community has such a brilliant appreciation for expressive art. Did you know? Santo Domingo is often called the 'Gateway to the Coast', making it a melting pot of different Ecuadorian cultures and styles!

Our workshops reflect this diversity, encouraging students to draw inspiration from the natural beauty of the region and the lively spirit of the city. We believe that by introducing street art to schools in Santo Domingo, we’re helping to nurture a culture of respect and creativity that will brighten the city’s future one mural at a time. ✨

Fun Fact: Santo Domingo is famous for its unique "Colorados" (the Tsáchila people), who traditionally use achiote to dye their hair bright red—a perfect local inspiration for using bold, vibrant colours in art! 🎨
