Is the graffiti workshop safe for secondary school students?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks to ensure no one breathes in paint fumes, along with protective suits and gloves to keep school uniforms clean. Our instructors are seasoned professionals who give a comprehensive safety briefing before any cans are shaken. We only use professional-grade spray paint in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specialized indoor spaces to ensure a 100% safe environment for your students.

Does this workshop encourage illegal tagging or vandalism?

Absolutely not! We focus on the artistic and positive side of street art. Our workshop begins with a discussion on the history of graffiti, the difference between street art and vandalism, and the importance of respecting public property. We teach students that graffiti is a powerful tool for self-expression and community beautification when done legally and respectfully. It's about building a creative skill, not breaking the law.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything you need! This includes a wide variety of premium spray paint colours, protective gear (suits, gloves, masks), and the 'canvas' itself—whether that is a large plastic film wall or individual wooden boards for students to take home. We also bring caps (nozzles) for different effects and sketching materials. You just need to provide the space and enthusiastic students ready to get their hands colourful!

Can you adapt the workshop to fit our school schedule?

We are very flexible! While we have standard programs that last between 2 and 3 hours, we can adapt the timing to fit your school timetable. We can run multiple sessions back-to-back for different year groups or host one large-scale project during a dedicated arts day. Just let us know your scheduling requirements, and we will make it work seamlessly with your school day.

Where in Szeged do the workshops take place?

Our workshops in Szeged usually take place outdoors on school grounds, such as a sports court or a courtyard, using our mobile spray walls. However, if the Hungarian weather doesn't play ball, we can arrange indoor sessions provided there is adequate ventilation and floor protection. We always have a backup plan ready to ensure the creative fun doesn't stop just because of a little rain!

What is the ideal group size for a school workshop?

For secondary schools, we recommend groups of 15 to 30 students per instructor to ensure everyone gets enough individual attention and spray time. However, we have a large team of artists and can easily cater to entire year groups by sending multiple instructors. Whether you have one small art class or 200 students, we can scale the event to suit your needs perfectly.

How does the booking and payment process work?

We believe in hassle-free planning for teachers. You don't need to pay anything upfront! We work on a 'book now, pay after' basis. Once the workshop is finished and your students are buzzing with excitement, we will send over the invoice. We also have backup artists on standby for every booking, so you never have to worry about a last-minute cancellation. We make the admin as easy as the art!

The experience

Why bring a Graffitifun workshop to your secondary school in Szeged? It’s not just about the paint; it’s about the transformation. Here is why schools love working with us:

Boosts confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece come to life gives students a massive sense of accomplishment. 🔥
Creative problem solving: Planning a piece requires spatial awareness, colour theory, and quick thinking.
Inclusive for all: You don't need to be 'good at drawing' to make something incredible with a spray can! 🏆
Expert guidance: Our artists are real pros who know how to connect with and inspire teenagers.
Stress relief: The physical act of painting is a fantastic way for students to de-stress and focus. 🎤
Professional setup: We handle all the logistics, from materials to safety, so teachers can just enjoy the show.

Step by step

Introduction & safety: We start with a high-energy intro, hand out the protective gear, and cover the essential safety rules for using spray cans.
History & culture: A quick, engaging talk about how graffiti evolved from New York subways to prestigious galleries worldwide.
Sketching the vision: Students grab pens and paper to map out their ideas, learning about 'tags', 'throw-ups', and 'pieces'.
Can control basics: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create different line widths with various nozzles.
Practice session: Before the main event, everyone gets to test their skills on a practice wall to get a feel for the flow of the paint.
Filling & fading: Students learn the secrets of 'filling in' their letters and creating those iconic 3D shadows and colour gradients.
The masterpiece: Working individually or in teams, the students execute their final designs on the main surface.
Final touches: We teach 'outlining' and 'highlighting' techniques that make the artwork pop and look professionally finished.
Group photo & cleanup: We celebrate the incredible results with a group photo session before packing up all materials and leaving the site spotless.

Local culture

Szeged, known as the 'City of Sunshine', is famous for its stunning Votive Church and the bustling Móra Ferenc Museum, but it also has a growing appreciation for contemporary urban expression. While our workshops often take place on school grounds near the Tisza River, we draw inspiration from the city's unique mix of Art Nouveau architecture and modern student life. We love bringing a bit of ‘underground’ flair to this historic cultural hub! 🏛️

Fun Fact: Did you know that Szeged is home to one of Hungary's most vibrant university scenes? This youthful energy makes it the perfect place for street art to thrive, blending traditional Hungarian pride with modern, global creative trends! ✨
