Is the graffiti workshop safe for individuals with physical disabilities?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority in Goroka. We use low-odour spray paint where possible and provide all necessary protective gear, including masks and gloves. Our instructors are trained to supervise the session closely, ensuring that every participant stays safe while having the time of their lives. We also choose accessible locations to ensure everyone can move around comfortably.

What types of special needs can you accommodate?

Our Goroka special needs programs are designed to be inclusive for everyone. Whether a participant has a physical disability, a sensory processing disorder, or a learning difficulty, our artists adapt their teaching style on the fly. We focus on 'ability' rather than 'disability', making sure every person feels empowered to pick up a spray can and express themselves in their own unique way.

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are perfect for absolute beginners. Our professional street artists will guide the group through the basics, from holding the can to creating simple shapes. In Goroka, we celebrate individual expression, so there is no right or wrong way to paint. It’s all about the joy of the process and seeing your vibrant colours come to life on the wall.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard workshop in Goroka typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. However, we are very flexible. If we feel the group needs a slower pace with more breaks, or if a shorter, high-energy session works better, we can easily adjust the schedule. We work closely with carers and organisers to ensure the timing is just right for the group’s specific energy levels.

What equipment do we need to provide?

We provide everything you need! This includes high-quality spray paint, protective gloves, masks, and various surfaces to paint on. We also bring the inspiration. For the Goroka workshops, we recommend participants wear old clothes and comfortable shoes that they don't mind getting a bit of paint on. We handle the setup and the cleanup, so you can focus entirely on the fun.

Where do the workshops take place in Goroka?

We can host the workshop at a variety of locations in Goroka. We have access to specific legal graffiti walls, but we can also bring the experience to your facility or a local community centre if there is a suitable outdoor area. If you're unsure about a location, just let us know, and we'll help find the perfect creative spot for your group.

How do we book a workshop for our group?

Booking is simple! Since every special needs group has unique requirements, we don't have a 'one size fits all' price. Hit the 'request a quote' button, tell us a bit about your group size and any specific needs, and we’ll get back to you with a tailored plan. We don't require upfront payments, so you can book with total peace of mind.

Step by step

Initial chat: We start by discussing the specific needs and interests of your group in Goroka to ensure a perfectly tailored experience.
Design prep: Together, we choose a theme or simple sketches that will help guide the participants during their creative journey.
Safety first: On the day, we kit everyone out in protective gear and go over the basic 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely.
Technique intro: Our friendly artists demonstrate fun, easy techniques like making dots, lines, and fills to get everyone comfortable.
Free expression: This is the best part! Participants start applying paint to the wall or canvas, exploring colours and shapes at their own pace.
Guided creation: Our artists provide hands-on support, helping to refine edges or add 'pop' to the artwork while encouraging total independence.
Group masterpiece: We often work together on a final collaborative piece that represents the collective spirit of the Goroka group.
Photo finish: We capture the smiles and the finished art with a group photo session to remember the day forever.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Goroka is world-famous for its vibrant spirit, especially during the annual Goroka Show where colours and traditions collide. We bring that same explosive energy to our workshops! Street art here is an emerging way to bridge traditional culture with modern expression. Did you know? Goroka sits at an altitude of 1,600 metres, making the air crisp and the light perfect for seeing those neon spray colours pop against the Highlands backdrop. 🏔️

Fun Fact: The name Goroka actually comes from a mispronunciation by early settlers—the local people were saying 'Goka', and it stuck! We love adding our own 'misinterpretations' to art through creative freestyle tagging. 🔥

In a town known for its coffee and its craftsmanship, our workshops provide a new tactile way for the special needs community to engage with the local art scene. Beyond Goroka, we also bring our creative sessions to Port Moresby, Lae, Mount Hagen, and Madang.
