The experience

Graffiti is a uniquely powerful tool for accessibility. Unlike traditional fine arts that require precise motor skills, street art allows for big movements and instant visual impact. Here’s why our Maardu special needs program is a game-changer:

  • Sensory-Rich Experience: The sound of the ball rattling, the feel of the spray, and the visual pop of colour provide fantastic sensory stimulation. ✨
  • Boosts Confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece of art that you created builds an incredible sense of achievement and "I can" attitude. 💪
  • Tailored Pacing: We don't rush. Our artists follow the rhythm of the participants, making sure the environment stays calm and focused. 🐢
  • Non-Verbal Expression: Art allows for communication when words aren't enough—perfect for those with speech or language barriers. 🎤
  • Zero Pressure: There are no mistakes in graffiti, only "happy accidents," which helps reduce anxiety and perfectionism. 🏆

Step by step

  1. Initial Consultation: We start by chatting with you to understand the specific needs, triggers, and abilities of your group in Maardu.
  2. Creative Setup: Our team arrives early to set up a safe, accessible workspace with all the necessary drop cloths and boards.
  3. Safety & Gear: We help every participant get into their protective suits, gloves, and masks, making it a fun "transformation" part of the day.
  4. Intro to Tools: We introduce the spray cans, showing how different caps (nozzles) change the spray and how to hold the can comfortably.
  5. Practice Strokes: Participants start on a practice board, getting used to the pressure and movement needed to make lines and dots.
  6. Design Phase: We help translate ideas into simple shapes or letters, often using stencils to build confidence and ensure a great result.
  7. The Big Creation: Everyone works on their main piece, with our artists providing hands-on assistance or standing back to let the creativity flow.
  8. Finishing Touches: We help with outlines or highlights to make the colours pop, ensuring every participant is thrilled with their work.
  9. Celebration & Cleanup: We take photos of the masterpieces and handle all the cleanup, leaving you with nothing but smiles and art!

Local culture

Street art in Maardu

Maardu is a city with a unique industrial heritage and a growing appreciation for modern art. Situated just a stone's throw from Tallinn, it offers the perfect backdrop for urban expression. We love bringing street art to this community, blending the city's sturdy, hardworking spirit with the vibrant, fluid nature of graffiti. Our workshops often take inspiration from the nearby Katariina Pier or the local parks, encouraging participants to reflect the colours of their home in their work.

Fun Fact: Did you know Maardu hosts the famous Sorochyntsi Fair? It’s a city that loves a celebration, and we aim to bring that same festive, communal energy to every single graffiti workshop we host!

Pricing

Our adaptive graffiti experiences in Maardu are priced competitively to ensure accessibility for local groups and organisations.

  • Individual Price: Between €20 and €40 per person.
  • Note: Final pricing depends on the group size, the location of the workshop, and specific material requirements.

We don't believe in "one size fits all" pricing for special needs programs. We want to ensure you get exactly what your group needs for the best value.
