Do the participants need any prior drawing or art skills?

Absolutely! No prior artistic experience is needed to join our youth projects in Maardu. Our professional artists are expert mentors who break down complex mural techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. We focus on the 'fun' aspect of creation, ensuring every participant feels confident holding a spray can. By the end of the session, even those who thought they couldn't draw a stick figure will be amazed at what they've produced.

Is the spray paint safe for young people to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 respirators to protect against fumes, along with protective suits and gloves to keep clothes clean. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially vetted indoor locations. Our instructors are also trained to manage groups safely, ensuring that the spray cans are used responsibly and everyone stays protected throughout the creative process.

What is the minimum age for the graffiti youth project?

We usually recommend a minimum age of 8 to 10 years old for our standard graffiti workshops, as the spray cans require a certain amount of finger strength and coordination. However, we can adapt our youth projects for slightly younger groups using water-based markers or alternative techniques. For teenagers and young adults, the experience is perfectly calibrated to be cool, engaging, and challenging enough to keep them focused.

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

Our youth projects in Maardu typically last between 1.5 and 3 hours. This timeframe allows enough room for a solid introduction, technique practice on the 'try-out' wall, and the completion of a final masterpiece. If you have a specific schedule or a full-day youth event planned, we can easily extend the session with more complex design challenges or collaborative team murals to fit your requirements.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

We are fully prepared for the Estonian weather! If we are working outdoors and it looks like rain, we can often set up large gazebos or move to a sheltered location. Alternatively, we have access to indoor spaces in and around Maardu where we can work safely. Thanks to our backup artist system, we rarely ever cancel; we simply adapt the plan to ensure the creative fun continues regardless of the clouds.

Are all materials included in the workshop price?

We provide everything needed for a successful street art session! This includes a wide variety of professional spray paint colours, caps (nozzles) for different line widths, protective gear (suits, masks, gloves), and the surface to paint on (whether that's a temporary wall, canvases, or a permanent mural site). All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and some comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty!

Can you host the workshop at our specific youth centre?

Maardu has a unique industrial aesthetic that lends itself perfectly to street art. While we have our regular spots, we can also bring the workshop to your specific youth centre, school, or community space. We are mobile and can set up temporary 'cellograff' walls (plastic wrap between pillars) almost anywhere, allowing us to bring the world of graffiti directly to your doorstep in the heart of Maardu.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth initiative in Maardu? It’s more than just painting; it’s about empowerment and teamwork. Check out why this is the ultimate activity for the younger generation:

Instant Confidence Boost: There’s nothing like seeing a huge, vibrant mural and knowing "I helped build that!" 💪
Team Building: Large murals require communication and collaboration—skills that stick for life.
Safe & Legal: We provide a structured environment where kids can explore "edgy" art without the risks, teaching them respect for public property.
All-Inclusive Materials: You don't need to worry about a thing; we bring the paint, the suits, and the skills. 🎒
Professional Mentors: Our artists are not just talented; they are passionate mentors who know how to connect with young people.
No Payment Upfront: We trust our community! You only pay after the workshop is complete and everyone is happy. ✨

Step by step

Intro & Inspiring Stories: We kick off with a brief history of street art and show some epic examples to get the creative juices flowing.
Safety Gear Up: Everyone gets fitted with professional masks, protective suits, and gloves. Safety first, style second!
The Masterclass: Our pro artists demonstrate the 'can control' basics—lines, dots, fades, and how to handle the pressure.
Practice Round: Participants head to the practice wall to get a feel for the spray cans and experiment with different nozzles.
Sketching the Vision: Whether it's a collective mural or individual pieces, we help the youth sketch out their ideas on the surface.
Filling & Fading: This is where the colour happens! We guide the group through filling in shapes and creating smooth gradients.
Outlining & Highlights: The 'pro' step. We add sharp outlines and highlights to make the artwork pop and look professional.
The Big Reveal: We step back, peel off any stencils, and admire the massive transformation of the space.
Photos & Cleanup: We take group photos with the masterpiece and ensure the area is left spotless before heading off.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Maardu is a city with a strong heartbeat, known for its industrial heritage and its diverse, multicultural community. This unique backdrop makes it the perfect canvas for street art. In a place where the landscape is often defined by hardworking industry, a splash of vibrant graffiti brings a fresh, energetic pulse to the neighbourhood. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, encouraging the youth to celebrate their town's identity while adding their own modern flair.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Maardu's name is thought to come from the Estonian word 'marras', referring to a spirit? While we can't promise any ghost sightings, we can definitely help you channel your own creative spirit onto the canvas! 🎨

From the bustling areas near the Muuga Harbour to the quiet residential streets, we bring the artistic vibe of Tallinn and Tartu right here to Maardu, making sure our local talent gets the spotlight they deserve.

We believe in transparent, fair pricing to make street art accessible to everyone in the community. Our youth project rates are designed to be budget-friendly while maintaining the highest quality of materials and instruction.
