Is the spray paint safe for participants with sensitivities?

Absolutely! Safety and comfort are our top priorities. We use low-odour professional spray paint and provide all necessary protective gear, including gloves and masks if needed. Our workshops in Slavonski Brod are held in accessible locations with plenty of ventilation. Our instructors are also trained to maintain a calm, supportive environment where everyone feels safe to explore their creative side without any pressure.

Where in Slavonski Brod do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible when it comes to location. We can host the workshop at a local accessible community centre, or if you have a specific indoor or outdoor space in Slavonski Brod in mind, our mobile team can come to you! We bring all the protective floor and wall coverings to ensure the venue stays clean, leaving only the beautiful artwork on the canvases behind.

How long does a typical session last?

Typically, our special needs sessions last between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. We understand that concentration levels and physical energy vary, so we keep the schedule flexible. We include plenty of short breaks for snacks or resting, and we never rush the process. The goal is enjoyment and achievement, not meeting a strict deadline, so we move at the group's natural pace.

Do participants need any prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our Slavonski Brod artists are masters at breaking down complex street art techniques into simple, manageable steps. We use stencils and easy-to-grip cans to ensure that even those with limited fine motor skills can produce something they are truly proud of. It’s all about the joy of the process!

Can carers or support workers join the workshop?

Yes, we highly encourage it! Support workers, parents, or carers are more than welcome to join in the fun or stay close by to provide familiar support. We find that when support staff get involved, it creates a wonderful shared memory. There is no extra charge for carers who are there solely to support a participant's physical or emotional needs during the session.

What should participants wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing old clothes and comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of 'artistic' character on. While we provide protective aprons and gloves, graffiti can sometimes be a bit messy! If the workshop is outdoors near the Sava river, a light jacket might be a good idea depending on the season. We provide everything else, including all art supplies.

How do we book a session and is there a deposit?

Booking is simple! You can use our online Cost Calculator to get an instant estimate for your group size in Slavonski Brod. Once you're happy, send us a request via our contact form. We don’t require upfront payments, and we always have backup artists on standby to ensure your event goes ahead exactly as planned, no matter what. 🎨

The experience

Why choose our special needs graffiti program in Slavonski Brod? It’s more than just painting; it’s about confidence, sensory exploration, and community. Here is why our workshops are a hit:

Sensory-Rich Experience: The sound of the can, the vibrant colours, and the tactile nature of the spray create a wonderful sensory engagement. 🌈
Confidence Building: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life provides an immediate sense of accomplishment and pride.
Adaptive Techniques: We use specialised stencils and grip aids to ensure everyone can produce high-quality art, regardless of motor skills. 💪
Expert Guidance: Our Slavonski Brod artists aren't just talented; they are patient, encouraging, and experienced in inclusive teaching.
Zero Pressure: There are no mistakes in graffiti—only "happy accidents" and layers of creative discovery! 🎤
Total Flexibility: From the choice of music to the pace of the session, everything is adjusted to the group's comfort level.

Step by step

Warm welcome: Our friendly Slavonski Brod artists meet the group, introduce themselves, and help everyone get comfortable with the surroundings.
Gear up: We hand out protective aprons, gloves, and masks. It’s the first step to feeling like a real street artist!
Introduction to tools: We demonstrate how the spray cans work, showing how different caps (nozzles) change the spray pattern in a fun, sensory way.
Sketching the vision: Participants can use markers to draw their ideas on paper or directly onto the canvas, with as much or as little help as they need.
The first spray: Under guided supervision, everyone gets to feel the pressure of the nozzle and see the vibrant colours appear on the canvas for the first time.
Creative exploration: Using stencils, tapes, and freehand techniques, the group begins to build their masterpiece, focusing on texture and colour.
Adding the details: We help participants add outlines or highlights to make their artwork "pop" and look professional.
The big reveal: We take a moment to admire everyone's work, take group photos, and celebrate the incredible creativity on display!
Takeaway art: Each participant gets to take their own custom-made canvas home to hang on their wall as a reminder of their success.

Local culture

Slavonski Brod is a city of rich history and incredible community spirit, from the stunning Brod Fortress to the beautiful Korzo. While the city is famous for its cultural heritage, we are bringing a modern, urban twist to its creative scene. Our workshops often take inspiration from the flowing Sava river and the vibrant local life, encouraging participants to reflect the beauty of Brod in their own unique styles.

Fun Fact: Did you know Slavonski Brod was once home to Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, one of Croatia’s most famous children's writers? Just as she created magical worlds with words, we help our participants create magical worlds with spray cans! 🌟

We work closely with local community hubs and are proud to contribute to the inclusive cultural fabric of this historic city, ensuring that the joy of urban art is accessible to every "Brođani" and visitor alike.
