Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely no prior graffiti experience is needed to join our Athens training. We designed this professional development course specifically for art teachers who want to learn from scratch. We start with basic spray can control and safety protocols before moving into complex techniques. By the end of the session, you will have the confidence to explain the mechanics of aerosol art to your students effectively.

What safety measures and gear are included?

We take safety very seriously. All participants are provided with high-quality FFP3 masks, gloves, and protective suits to ensure a clean and safe environment. During the training in Athens, we also cover how to set up a safe workspace in a school environment, including ventilation requirements and age-appropriate safety instructions for your pupils. Your well-being and that of your students are our primary concerns.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the session?

Yes, every educator who completes the Graffitifun art teacher training receives a digital certificate of participation. This document outlines the specific skills and techniques you have mastered, such as stencil making, lettering, and mural planning. It serves as excellent proof of professional development (CPD) for your school administration and can be added to your professional teaching portfolio.

Can these skills be taught to all age groups?

The training is highly versatile and can be adapted for primary schools, secondary schools, and youth centres. We teach you how to adjust the complexity of the art projects based on the age and skill level of your students. For younger children, we focus on safe techniques and teamwork, while for older students, we delve deeper into the history, culture, and technical precision of street art.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

Our workshops are designed to be weather-resilient. Athens usually enjoys great weather, but if it rains, we have access to covered outdoor locations or indoor spaces where we use specialized low-odour water-based spray paint. We also have a roster of backup artists to ensure that your scheduled training session goes ahead even if an instructor is unwell. We never want to disrupt your professional development schedule.

How does the payment process work for schools?

We offer flexible payment terms for schools and educational institutions. There is no requirement for upfront payment; you can settle the invoice after the workshop has been successfully completed. This allows you to ensure you are 100% satisfied with the training before the final payment is made. We accept bank transfers and provide all the necessary documentation for school accounting departments.

Local culture

Athens is often called the "new Berlin" of the street art world. From the sprawling murals of Metaxourgeio to the politically charged stencils of Exarcheia, the city serves as a living gallery that perfectly complements our training sessions. During our workshops, we don't just teach you how to spray; we immerse you in the local culture that makes the Athenian underground scene so unique. You'll gain a deeper appreciation for the 'writing' culture that lines the streets near Monastiraki and learn how to translate this urban energy into a structured educational environment. This local context ensures that your training feels authentic and deeply rooted in the artistic soul of Greece.

Pricing

Our teacher training sessions are competitively priced to fit within school professional development budgets. Prices generally range from €20 to €45 per person, depending on the number of participants and the specific materials required for your bespoke session. Because we believe in the quality of our training, we don't require any payment until after the workshop is finished.
