Do I need to have prior graffiti experience to join?

Absolutely no prior experience with spray cans is necessary! Our Debrecen training is specifically designed for art educators of all skill levels. We start with the absolute basics—how to hold the can, pressure control, and nozzle types—before moving into advanced mural techniques. You'll learn right alongside your peers in a supportive, fun environment where making 'mistakes' is actually part of the creative process. By the end, you'll feel like a pro.

What materials are provided during the training session?

We provide everything you need for the workshop. This includes a wide range of professional-grade spray paints (low pressure for better control), various nozzles (caps), high-quality respirators, gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the practice surfaces and design templates. Just bring your enthusiasm, comfortable shoes you don't mind getting a bit dusty, and perhaps a notebook for jotting down pedagogical tips.

How do you handle safety and ventilation during the workshop?

Safety is our absolute priority, especially when we discuss bringing these techniques into a school environment. We use low-solvent, water-based paints where possible and provide industry-standard FFP3 respirators for all participants. During the training, we'll give you a full briefing on ventilation requirements, fire safety, and how to manage a group of students safely while they use spray cans. You'll leave with a clear safety checklist to use in your own classroom.

Will I receive materials to help me teach this to my students?

Yes! Our training is specifically built for educators. We don't just teach you how to paint; we show you how to teach it. This includes 'scaffolding' techniques for different age groups, tips on managing paint distribution, and how to link graffiti to the national curriculum topics like Art History, Social Studies, and Typography. We'll give you practical advice on how to organise a mess-free, successful graffiti day at your own school.

How long does the teacher training session last?

A standard professional development session in Debrecen typically lasts between 2.5 to 4 hours. This gives us enough time to cover the theoretical background of street art culture, demonstrate the technical skills, and allow for plenty of hands-on practice on the wall. We can also offer full-day intensive sessions if your department wants to go deeper into mural planning and large-scale collaborative projects. We are flexible to fit your schedule!

What is your booking and payment policy for schools?

We understand that school budgets and teacher schedules can be complex. That's why we offer a 'no-risk' booking policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront when you book your session in Debrecen. You only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. Plus, we always have backup artists on standby, so you never have to worry about a session being cancelled last minute due to illness.

The experience

Why choose graffiti for your next professional development session? It’s more than just paint on a wall; it’s a powerful tool for student engagement and community building. Here’s why Debrecen teachers are loving our sessions:

Instant Student Buy-in: Graffiti is a language your students already speak. Bringing it into the classroom builds immediate rapport. 🎤
Boost Confidence: Street art is forgiving and bold. It's a fantastic way to help "non-artistic" students find their creative voice.
Practical Skills: You'll learn everything from can control to mural planning—skills you can use for school murals or school festivals. 🏆
Stress-Free Learning: We handle the mess and the safety gear. You just focus on the creativity and the fun!
Curriculum Links: We show you how to tie graffiti into Art History, Typography, and Social Justice themes.
Flexible & Local: We’re active across Hungary, from Pecs to Debrecen, so we know the local school landscape. 🇭🇺

Step by step

Intro to the culture: We start with a quick, high-energy dive into the history of street art and how it evolved from New York subways to Debrecen's urban landscape.
Mastering the gear: Learn the anatomy of a spray can, the difference between 'fat caps' and 'skinny caps', and how to maintain your equipment.
The first line: Get comfortable on the wall with basic strokes, dots, and fades. It’s all about muscle memory and can control!
Letterform and style: Dive into typography. We’ll show you how to guide students from simple hand-styles to complex 3D 'wildstyle' letters.
Stencilling and masking: Learn how to use tape and cardboard stencils to help less-confident students achieve crisp, professional-looking results.
Pedagogical integration: A dedicated session on how to map graffiti techniques to your specific curriculum goals and classroom management.
The collaborative mural: Work together with your fellow teachers to create a large-scale piece, experiencing the teamwork your students will eventually feel.
Clean-up and safety: Learn the 'pro' ways to manage waste, store cans safely, and ensure the workshop area remains tidy.
Certification: Wrap up with a review and receive your Graffitifun certificate of completion, ready to take back to your school!

Good to know

Duration: Usually 2.5 to 4 hours, but we can customise this to fit your PD day schedule.

Included: All spray paint, caps, safety gear (masks/suits), boards/canvases, and teaching hand-outs.
Location: We can come to your school campus in Debrecen or হোস্ট the session at a local creative space.
Safety: We use high-quality FFP3 respirators and focus heavily on safe handling and environmental responsibility.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Debrecen has a unique urban character that blends its "Calvinist Rome" history with a growing, modern energy. While it might seem traditional at first glance, the city's student population and modern developments like the MODEM Centre for Modern and Contemporary Arts make it the perfect place for a street art revolution! We love the way the local creative scene is expanding. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Debrecen's street layout, with its broad avenues and hidden courtyards, offers some of the best "secret" spots for urban inspiration in Eastern Hungary? It's a city that keeps its creative secrets well!

In our training, we often draw inspiration from local Hungarian motifs and blend them with modern graffiti styles, showing you how to help your students celebrate their Debrecen identity through a global art medium. We also frequently work in other major hubs like Budapest, Szeged, and Miskolc, bringing a nationwide network of artistic expertise to your doorstep.

Pricing

Our training sessions are competitively priced to ensure schools and individual teachers can access high-quality professional development. Because every school has different needs—from group size to location—we provide bespoke pricing for every booking.
