Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the workshop?

Absolutely not! This training is designed for educators of all skill levels. Whether you are a fine arts master or someone who hasn't picked up a spray can since childhood, our professional artists guide you through every step. We focus on the 'low floor, high ceiling' approach, ensuring you feel confident enough to demonstrate techniques to your students safely and effectively immediately after the session.

Is spray painting safe to do with students in a school setting?

We prioritse safety above all else. During the training, we cover the importance of using low-pressure cans for better control, the necessity of high-quality FFP3 masks for respiratory protection, and the use of eco-friendly paints where possible. You’ll learn how to set up a safe outdoor or well-ventilated indoor 'spray zone' that meets school health and safety standards in Dobrich.

Can this training help me meet national curriculum standards?

Yes! Graffiti is a fantastic gateway to teaching various subjects. We show you how to link street art to social studies through the lens of urban history, to physics through pressure and paint atomisation, and even to maths through scale and geometry. Our professional development session includes a module on curriculum mapping to help you justify the activity to your school board.

How long does the professional development session last?

Our standard Art Teacher Training session in Dobrich typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This allows enough time for a brief history of the culture, hands-on practice with different nozzles, and the completion of a collaborative mural. For those wanting a deeper dive, we can extend the session into a full-day intensive masterclass covering advanced stencil work and character design.

What materials are included in the training package?

Graffitifun provides everything! We bring professional-grade spray paint, a variety of nozzles (caps), protective gloves, high-quality masks, and boards or canvases for you to practice on. You simply need to show up in clothes you don't mind getting a bit of paint on. We even bring cleaning materials for a tidy wrap-up at the end of the session.

What are the payment terms and booking conditions?

We offer extreme flexibility for schools and educators. There is no upfront payment required when you book your session; you only pay after the workshop is completed and you are 100% satisfied. We accept bank transfers and provide full VAT invoicing for school accounting departments. If your plans change, our backup artist system ensures the training goes ahead regardless!

Step by step

Intro to the culture: We start by diving into the history of street art, moving from 70s subway tags to modern urban murals.
Can control basics: Learn how to hold a spray can properly and control the distance to create different line weights.
Nozzle knowledge: Master the 'fat cap' for filling and the 'skinny cap' for fine details—essential skills for any art teacher.
Lettering & fonts: We'll teach you how to construct 'Wildstyle' and 'Bubble' letters so you can guide students in designing their names.
Safety protocols: A vital step where we cover mask fitting, ventilation, and managing paint storage in a classroom environment.
Layering techniques: Learn the 'back to front' rule of graffiti to create depth and vibrant 3D effects on your canvas.
Curriculum integration: A collaborative discussion on how to turn these skills into a 6-week lesson plan for your specific age group.
Final mural production: Put your new skills to the test by creating a collaborative piece of street art together.

Local culture

Dobrich, known for its rich agricultural heritage and the beautiful City Park St. George, is becoming a hidden gem for urban expression in North-eastern Bulgaria. While the city is famous for its historical crafts in the Old Dobrich ethnographic complex, there is a growing appetite for modern visual arts among the youth. By bringing graffiti training to Dobrich, we are helping local teachers connect the city’s storied past with its creative future. 🎨
