Is the paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits for every pupil. Our spray paints are low-odour and chosen specifically to be used in educational environments. Furthermore, our professional instructors are experts at managing groups of children, ensuring that the cans are used correctly and that everyone follows the safety rules throughout the entire Dobrich workshop.

Do the children need any previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our instructors start with the basics, teaching the kids how to hold the can and control the pressure. We use a step-by-step method that ensures every child, regardless of their natural artistic ability, walks away with a piece of art they are proud of. It is all about building confidence and having a blast with colours!

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

We are used to the Bulgarian weather! If it rains in Dobrich, we can move the workshop indoors provided there is a well-ventilated space like a large gym or a hall with high ceilings and open doors. Alternatively, we can use large canvases or boards. We always coordinate with the school a few days before to ensure we have a 'Plan B' ready to go so the fun doesn't stop.

How long does a typical school session last?

A standard primary school workshop usually lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. This provides the perfect balance: enough time for a solid introduction, a demonstration, and plenty of hands-on painting time without the children losing focus. We can also adapt the timing to fit into your specific school timetable or double-up sessions for larger year groups throughout the day.

What materials does the school need to provide?

We provide everything! This includes all the professional spray paint, caps, protective gear (suits, masks, gloves), and the 'canvas' (which could be a plastic-wrapped fence, wooden boards, or individual canvases). We even bring the inspiration! The school just needs to provide an outdoor space and a group of excited students ready to dive into the world of urban art.

Is the workshop suitable for all primary school ages?

For younger primary school students, we often focus on collaborative murals or simplified shapes to ensure they stay engaged and safe. Older students in Key Stage 2 can handle more complex techniques like shading and outlining. We tailor the complexity of the designs based on the age group we are teaching in Dobrich, ensuring the workshop is challenging but achievable for everyone involved.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your pupils? It's more than just painting on walls—it's about confidence, collaboration, and thinking outside the box! 🚀

Boosts confidence: Seeing a giant mural come to life gives kids a massive sense of achievement. 💪
Encourages teamwork: Students must collaborate to ensure the designs flow together seamlessly. 🤝
Physical & creative: It's a full-body art experience that gets kids outdoors and moving. 🏃‍♂️
No mistakes, only 'style': Graffiti is forgiving, making it perfect for children who might feel intimidated by traditional drawing. ✨
Expert instructors: Our artists aren't just talented; they are amazing with kids and know how to keep the energy high! 🎤
Stress-free for teachers: We bring all the gear, handle the setup, and lead the whole session. You just enjoy the show! 🎉

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy introduction to the world of street art, showing the kids that art has no limits! ✨
Design brainstorming: The students help sketch out the concept, choosing colours and themes that represent their school or class identity. 🎨
Safety briefing: We suit up! Every child gets a protective suit, mask, and gloves while learning the 'golden rules' of spray painting. 🛡️
Can control 101: Before hitting the main wall, kids practice lines, dots, and filling on a practice area to get a feel for the spray can. 🎯
The big fill-in: The creative chaos begins! Students work together to fill in the large blocks of colour on the main mural. 🎈
Detailing & outlines: Our pro artists help the kids add those crisp outlines and highlights that make the artwork pop. 🖌️
Individual tags: Each student gets a chance to create their own 'tag' or signature, making their personal mark on the day. ✍️
The grand reveal: We step back to admire the finished masterpiece. It’s the perfect photo opportunity for the school newsletter! 📸
Tidy up: We leave the school grounds exactly as we found them (except for the amazing new art, of course!). 🧹

Local culture

Dobrich has a wonderful tradition of art and culture, often celebrated in the beautiful City Park St. George. While the city is known for its classical heritage, there is a growing appreciation for modern, urban expressions. Adding a graffiti workshop to your school's curriculum brings a fresh, contemporary vibe to the Dobruja region, connecting students with global art trends. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know Dobrich is the administrative centre of the "Granary of Bulgaria"? Just like the vast wheat fields surrounding the city, our workshops provide plenty of room for young minds to grow and harvest their own creative ideas! 🌾
