Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely not! Our art teacher training in Ruse is designed for all skill levels. Whether you are a fine arts maestro or someone who has never touched a spray can, our professional artists guide you through every step. We focus on the methodology of teaching the craft, ensuring you feel confident demonstrating techniques to your students regardless of your personal artistic background. It is all about learning the process!

Is the spray paint safe to use in a school environment?

We take safety very seriously. All participants are provided with high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits. We also use low-pressure spray cans which are easier to control and produce less fumes. During the session, we’ll teach you how to set up a safe 'spray zone' for your students, ensuring that your future classroom activities are both fun and compliant with health and safety standards.

What kind of surfaces will we be practicing on?

The training is highly versatile. While we often work on large plastic-wrapped walls or boards, we also show you how to adapt graffiti for smaller canvases, paper, or even digital platforms. This ensures you can bring street art into your curriculum even if your school doesn't have a dedicated outdoor mural space. We provide all the materials, including practice boards and premium caps, for the duration of the workshop.

How long does the teacher training session last?

Our standard professional development sessions usually last between 2.5 to 4 hours. This timeframe allows us to cover the history of the movement, master basic can control, and complete a collaborative piece. If you have a specific schedule or a larger faculty group in Ruse, we can easily customise the duration to fit into your professional development day or after-school time slot.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?

Yes, definitely! Upon completion of the workshop, every participant receives a Graffitifun certificate. This serves as a great addition to your professional portfolio and proves you have undergone training in modern street art techniques and safety protocols. It’s a fantastic way to show your commitment to innovative art education and keeping your teaching methods fresh and engaging for the younger generation.

What happens if the artist is unavailable on the day?

Graffitifun is built on reliability. Unlike individual freelancers, we have a large team of professional artists across the region. If your primary trainer falls ill or has an emergency, we have backup artists ready to step in. This ensures your scheduled training in Ruse goes ahead as planned, so you don't have to worry about rescheduling your busy academic calendar at the last minute.

We know that traditional art history is great, but nothing grabs a teenager's attention quite like a spray can and a blank wall. Our professional graffiti artists will guide you through the techniques, safety protocols, and lesson-planning ideas needed to bring urban art into the classroom safely and professionally. Whether you're based near the University of Ruse or a local secondary school, we bring the studio to you. Let's swap the oil paints for some aerosols and turn those lesson plans into masterpieces. The experience

Broadening your teaching toolkit shouldn't be a chore. Here is why our street art training is the perfect fit for Ruse educators:

Boost student engagement: Graffiti is a 'hook' that gets even the most disengaged students excited about art theory and practice. ✨
Comprehensive safety knowledge: We teach you the 'legal and safe' way to handle aerosols, so you can lead with confidence.
Interdisciplinary potential: Street art isn't just for art class; it’s a gateway to discussing social issues, history, and community. 🎤
No-risk booking: With no upfront payment and our 100% satisfaction guarantee, your school's budget is in safe hands.
Professional certification: Stand out in your career with a certificate from an established European graffiti provider. 🏆

Step by step

Intro to the culture: We kick off with a brief history of graffiti, moving from 'vandalism' to the respected global art form it is today.
Gear and safety briefing: You'll learn about different nozzle types (caps), paint brands, and how to kit out your students with the right safety gear.
The 'first line' technique: Get comfortable with the can. We teach you finger pressure, distance from the wall, and movement speed to get clean lines.
Typography and letter structure: Master the basics of tags, throw-ups, and 3D effects so you can explain the 'anatomy' of a letter to your class.
Colour theory in the wild: See how to blend colours directly on the wall using 'fading' techniques that make murals pop.
Lesson planning workshop: We brainstorm how to integrate these skills into your specific curriculum, from history lessons to practical art projects.
The grand finale: Work together on a collaborative mural to experience the teamwork and project management aspects of a group graffiti project.
Cleanup and storage: Learn the 'boring but vital' bits: how to store cans safely and keep your classroom from becoming a rainbow mess!

Good to know

Group sizes: We cater to small departments of 3 or large faculty groups of up to 30 teachers.
Location: We can come to your school in Ruse or arrange an inspiring outdoor location.
Everything included: High-quality spray paint, protective suits, gloves, masks, and practice surfaces are all provided.
Weather: If outdoors, we have flexible plans or can move to a sheltered area to keep the creativity dry! 🔥
Safety first: We use professional-grade respiratory protection and eco-conscious paint when possible.

Local culture

Ruse, often called the 'Little Vienna' of Bulgaria, is famous for its stunning Neo-Baroque and Neo-Rococo architecture. But beneath those elegant facades, there is a growing appreciation for contemporary urban expression. By bringing graffiti into your school, you are helping bridge the gap between Ruse's aristocratic history and its modern, creative future. Places like the Danube riverbank provide the perfect backdrop for artistic inspiration, and we love helping local teachers tap into that local energy. Fun Fact: Ruse was the first city in Bulgaria to have a modern printing house, and today, you can continue that legacy of visual communication through the bold lines of street art! 🏙️

Pricing

Our training sessions are competitively priced to fit within school professional development budgets. Prices typically range from лв40 to лв90 per person, depending on the length of the session and the materials required. We believe in transparency and flexibility, so we offer bespoke packages for the Ruse education community.
