Is the graffiti workshop safe for school students?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls, to keep every student safe and clean. Our instructors are professional artists who have years of experience supervising youth groups. We use low-odour professional spray paint and conduct sessions in well-ventilated outdoor areas to ensure a healthy environment for everyone involved in the Ruse workshop.

How long does a typical school session last?

Most of our school workshops in Ruse last between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time to cover the history of street art, practice basic spray techniques, and complete a final masterpiece. If you have a specific school schedule to stick to, we can easily adapt the timing to fit your lesson blocks or afternoon activity slots without rushing the creative process.

What is the minimum or maximum group size?

We recommend groups of at least 10 students to get the best atmosphere, but we can accommodate much larger groups too! For very large school cohorts in Ruse, we bring in multiple professional artists to ensure every student gets personal guidance. We maintain a high teacher-to-student ratio so that the quality of the educational experience remains top-notch throughout the entire day.

What happens if students get paint on their clothes?

Don't worry, we've got you covered! We use protective suits and gloves, but we always suggest students wear old clothes and sneakers just in case. If a little paint does find its way onto skin, it usually washes off with warm water and soap. Our setup in Ruse is designed to be as 'mess-free' as possible for the school premises.

Do the students get to keep their artwork?

The best part is that everyone gets to keep what they make! Students usually work on high-quality canvases or boards that can be displayed in the school hallways or taken home to show family. It’s a fantastic way to create a lasting legacy of the day. Some Ruse schools even opt for a large collective mural on a dedicated wall!

Do students need prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the very basics—how to hold a can, how to control pressure, and how to create simple shapes. Our 'can-control' exercises are fun and easy, ensuring that every student in Ruse feels like a pro by the time they finish their first piece of street art.

What materials do we need to provide?

We take care of everything! Graffitifun provides all the spray cans, caps, protective gear, canvases, and sketching materials. You don't need to shop for supplies or worry about technical setups. All we need from the school is a suitable outdoor space (like a playground or sports field) and a group of excited students ready to dive into the world of urban art.

Step by step

Intro & Street Art History: We kick things off with a high-energy talk about the roots of graffiti and how it evolved into the global street art movement we see in Ruse today.
Safety & Gear Up: Every student gets kitted out in protective masks, gloves, and suits. Safety first, style second!
Mastering 'Can Control': Our pros demonstrate how to hold the spray can, manage finger pressure, and create different line widths.
Sketching Your Vision: Before hitting the canvas, students sketch their ideas on paper, learning about lettering, 'tags', and 'pieces'.
First Lines & Fills: Students move to their boards to outline their designs and start filling them with vibrant colours.
Adding the 'Pop': We teach advanced tricks like shadowing, 3D effects, and highlighting to make the artwork jump off the surface.
Final Details & Outlines: This is where the magic happens! Re-lining the piece makes it look sharp and professional.
Group Gallery & Feedback: We finish with a 'gallery walk' through the workspace, where students share their work and celebrate each other's creativity. 🎉

Local culture

Ruse, often called the "Little Vienna" of Bulgaria, is famous for its stunning Neo-Baroque and Neo-Rococo architecture. But beneath those historic facades lies a growing appreciation for modern urban expression! By bringing a graffiti workshop to your school, you're helping students bridge the gap between Ruse’s classic heritage and contemporary global culture. We love working in the "City of Firsts," and we’re proud to bring the first-class Graffitifun experience to local schools here.

Fun Fact: Did you know Ruse was the first city in Bulgaria to have a cinema and a printing press? Artistic innovation is literally in the city's DNA, making it the perfect backdrop for your students to pioneer their own street art styles! 🇧🇬✨
