Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely not! This training is designed for educators of all artistic levels. Whether you are a seasoned fine arts teacher or a primary school educator who usually sticks to crayons, our professional artists will guide you through the technical aspects of spray painting. We focus on teaching you the 'how-to' so you can confidently demonstrate the basics to your students without needing to be Banksy yourself.

Is graffiti art safe to bring into a school environment?

Safety is our absolute priority, especially in a school setting. During the training in Setúbal, we provide comprehensive guidance on using low-pressure cans, proper ventilation, and high-quality respiratory protection. We also discuss eco-friendly 'water-based' paint alternatives that are safer for younger students. You will leave the session with a full safety checklist to implement in your own classroom or youth centre.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the professional development?

Yes! Upon successful completion of our intensive workshop, you will receive a Graffitifun Certificate of Participation. This document outlines the specific techniques and safety protocols you have mastered. It’s a fantastic addition to your professional development portfolio and proves to your school board or department head that you are qualified to lead urban art sessions.

What materials are included in the teacher training package?

We provide everything you need to get started! This includes a wide spectrum of professional spray paint cans, high-quality masks, gloves, protective overalls, and various nozzle types (caps). We also provide the practice surfaces, whether they be mobile boards or canvases. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little dusty!

How can I integrate graffiti into other subjects besides art?

Urban art is a brilliant tool for cross-curricular projects. Beyond art class, it can be used to explore local history, social justice, typography in English lessons, or even chemistry through paint composition. During our brainstorming session, we’ll help you develop custom lesson plans that align with your specific curriculum goals, ensuring the workshop adds real academic value to your students' term.

Can the training take place on-site at my school?

We are incredibly flexible! We can host the training at a creative outdoor spot in Setúbal to give you the authentic street art experience, or we can come directly to your school or community centre if you have a suitable outdoor area. We bring all the mobile equipment, meaning we can set up a professional-grade spray station almost anywhere with sufficient airflow.
