Is the graffiti workshop safe for school students?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority at Graffitifun. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls for every student. Our professional instructors are trained to manage large groups of children and teenagers, ensuring that the spray cans are used responsibly and that the environment remains fun yet controlled throughout the session.

Where do the school workshops take place in Rhodes?

We are fully mobile! While we recommend hosting workshops at your school grounds (like a playground or sports field) to save on transport costs, we can also arrange for a cool legal street art location in Rhodes if you prefer. We bring all the necessary protective flooring and equipment to ensure we leave no mess behind at your school.

How long does a typical school workshop last?

Our standard school workshops typically last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This includes the introductory talk about graffiti history, the sketching phase, and the hands-on spraying. However, we are totally flexible! If you need a shorter 'taster' session for multiple classes or a full-day intensive project, we can customise the schedule to fit your school day.

What is the minimum age for students to participate?

We work with students from the age of 8 and up. For primary schools, we focus more on simple shapes and bright colours, while for secondary schools and colleges, we dive deeper into technical skills, 3D effects, and the social history of street art. We adapt our teaching style to match the maturity and skill level of each group.

Does the school need to provide any materials?

We provide everything! Your school doesn't need to supply a single thing. We bring the professional spray paint, caps, gloves, masks, protective suits, and the canvases or boards. We even bring plastic sheeting to cover the ground. Just make sure the students wear old clothes and shoes, just in case they get a bit too creative!

How do we handle the payment for the school trip?

No upfront payment is required! We believe in the quality of our service, so you only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. We follow an easy invoicing process that works perfectly for school departments and educational administrative systems. Simply request a quote, confirm the date, and you are good to go!

Can we choose a specific theme for the mural?

Definitely! We love it when schools have a specific theme, such as 'Sustainability,' 'Unity,' or 'Ancient Greek History.' Our artists can help the students design a large mural that reflects these values. It’s a fantastic way to combine art with other subjects like history or social studies while creating a lasting memory for the school.

The experience

Why choose a Graffitifun workshop for your school in Rhodes? It’s more than just spraying paint; it’s about building confidence and seeing the world through a different lens. Here is why schools love working with us:

Boosts Creativity: We tap into the hidden talents of students who might not excel in traditional 'fine art' settings. 🎨
Team Building: Collaborative murals require communication, planning, and mutual respect. Group work has never been this cool! 🤝
History & Culture: We teach the fascinating shift from illegal vandalism to a global art movement. 🌍
Stress Relief: There is something incredibly therapeutic about the 'hiss' of a spray can and the flow of the paint. 🧘‍♂️
Accessible for All: Regardless of skill level, every student walks away with something they are proud of. 🏆
Professional & Reliable: We always have backup artists on standby, so your school event is never cancelled. 💪

Step by step

Introduction & History: We start with a high-energy talk about the roots of graffiti culture and how it evolved from New York streets to Rhodes galleries.
Safety Briefing: Students are kitted out in protective gear and taught how to handle spray cans safely and respectfully.
Sketching Your Vision: Before the paint flies, students grab paper and pencils to plan their tags and designs under the guidance of our pros.
Technique Demo: Our artists show off the 'can-control' secrets—how to make thin lines, fat fills, and cool gradients.
Outline & Fill: This is where the magic happens! Students start applying their first layers of paint to the canvas or wall.
Detailing & 3D: We teach the tricks of the trade, adding highlights and shadows to make the artwork pop off the surface.
The Big Reveal: We finish with a 'gallery walk' where students present their work to the class and discuss their creative choices.
Clean Up: We ensure the site is spotless and all protective gear is packed away, leaving only the masterpiece behind!

Good to know

Duration: Usually 1.5 to 3 hours, but we can scale up for full-day school events.
Group Sizes: From small art classes of 10 to entire year groups of 100+ students.
What's Included: Professional artist instructors, spray cans, caps, protective overalls, masks, and gloves.
Safety: We use low-odour paints where possible and provide full PPE. Our team is experienced in managing large student groups.
Flexibility: We can come to your school playground or sport halls, or find a legal wall near the city centre.

Local culture

Rhodes is a city where ancient history meets modern creativity. While the island is famous for its medieval Colossus and the stunning Palace of the Grand Master, there is a pulse of contemporary street art beating through its more modern districts. We love bringing our workshops to Rhodes because the light here is incredible for outdoor art, and the local students always bring a unique Mediterranean flair to their designs. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that some of the earliest forms of 'graffiti' can be found in ancient Greek ruins? We tell your students all about how the Greeks used to scratch messages into stone, proving that the urge to leave a mark is as old as the islands themselves! 🏛️✨

Pricing

Our school workshops are competitively priced to fit educational budgets. Prices generally range from €20 to €45 per student, depending on the number of participants and the specific project requirements (like a permanent mural vs. individual canvases).

We believe in total transparency: no hidden fees and no upfront payment required. You only pay after the students have had the time of their lives! 🎨🔥
