How long does a typical university graffiti workshop last?

Most university workshops in Rhodes last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This includes the initial safety briefing, sketching your design, learning spray techniques, and the final production of your collaborative mural. We can adjust the timing to fit into your society's schedule or a specific university event slot. Whether it's a quick creative break or a deep-dive masterclass, we make every minute count!

Is it safe for students who have never used spray paint?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for all students. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups and ensure everyone uses the spray cans correctly. We usually host these sessions outdoors or in well-ventilated areas, making the experience both safe and exhilarating for everyone involved. Just bring your energy and we'll handle the protection!

Do students need to be 'artistic' to participate?

No artistic experience is required at all! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from architecture students with an eye for design to tech students who have never held a brush. Our expert graffiti artists will guide you through the basics of 'tagging', 'throwing', and 'shading'. You'll be amazed at the high-quality mural the group can produce by the end of the session!

Can you host the workshop on our university campus?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop at a location of your choice on campus (with university permission), or we can suggest cool, legal spots around Rhodes. If you want us to come to a specific society meet-up or a student union event, just let us know. We bring all the necessary equipment, including mobile boards if there isn't a wall available.

What materials are included in the workshop price?

We provide everything you need to create street art: professional-grade spray cans in a huge variety of colours, caps/nozzles for different effects, protective gear, and surfaces to paint on. We also bring sketches and inspiration boards to help get the creative juices flowing. You just need to show up in old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on!

Do you offer workshops for very large student groups or societies?

Yes, we do! If you're planning a massive student festival or a university-wide orientation week, we can provide multiple artists to manage large crowds. We often set up 'rotational' stations where groups of students can contribute to a giant collective mural over several hours. It's a fantastic way to engage hundreds of students in a single day and create a lasting campus memory.

Why should our student union choose Graffitifun over others?

At Graffitifun, we believe in 'fun first'. Our booking process is stress-free: you don't need to pay anything upfront – payment is handled after the workshop is complete. We also have a network of backup artists, so even if an emergency happens, your event will never be cancelled. We are committed to 100% satisfaction and making sure your Rhodes university experience is legendary!

Step by step

Introduction & Demo: Our pro artist kicks things off with a high-energy demo, showing you the "dos and don'ts" of the spray can.
Concept Sketching: Grab some paper and markers! You'll brainstorm your designs, perhaps incorporating your university's colours or society's logo.
Gear Up: We suit everyone up in protective overalls, masks, and gloves. Safety first, but make it fashion!
Control Practice: Before hitting the big wall, you'll practice line work, dots, and fades on a practice surface to get the feel of the pressure.
Outline & Filling: Time to go big! You'll start outlining your piece and filling in those vibrant colours.
The 'Fat' Details: Learn how to add shadows, 3D effects, and "highlights" to make your graffiti pop off the wall.
Final Sharpening: Use black or white to "cut" the edges, giving your collective mural a professional, clean finish.
Group Photo: Strike a pose in front of your masterpiece. It's the perfect content for your society's Instagram!

Local culture

Rhodes is a city of incredible contrasts, where the medieval walls of the Old Town stand alongside a burgeoning modern arts scene. While the island is famous for the Colossus, today’s "colossal" art can be found in the hidden corners and urban spaces where local creatives express themselves. The island's bright Mediterranean light makes every spray-painted colour pop with an intensity you won't find anywhere else! ☀️

Fun Fact: Did you know that Rhodes is home to several street art initiatives that aim to revitalise urban areas? The local street art culture often blends Greek mythology with modern stencil work, creating a style that is uniquely 'Rhodian'!

Our workshops tap into this local spirit, giving students a chance to contribute to the island's evolving visual story while picking up skills from artists who live and breathe the Greek street art scene. If you're looking for more inspiration, don't miss our sessions in other vibrant student cities like Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, or Heraklion.

Pricing

Our university workshops are designed to be budget-friendly for student groups. Prices generally range from €20 to €45 per person, depending on the number of participants and the specific setup (like whether we're painting on canvases or a massive outdoor wall). 💶

The best part? We don't require any upfront payment! You pay only after the workshop is finished and your group is 100% satisfied with the experience.
