Is the graffiti workshop safe for participants with special needs?

Absolutely! We take safety very seriously. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and specialised masks to ensure everyone breathes easy while they create. Our artists are experienced in managing groups with various needs, ensuring a controlled, supervised environment where the only thing you need to worry about is which colour to pick next. We always keep a first-aid kit on hand and maintain a clean, tidy workspace.

Can the workshop take place at our own location?

We offer total flexibility. While we have a fantastic outdoor spot in Rhodes, we can also bring the workshop to you! If your group feels more comfortable at a specific day centre, school, or community hub, we’ll pack up our cans and boards and set up a mobile studio at your location. We just need a well-ventilated space or an outdoor area to get the magic started.

Do participants need previous art experience?

Not at all! This workshop is designed for absolute beginners. Our professional street artists are experts at breaking down the process into simple, manageable steps. Whether a participant wants to paint a full masterpiece or just enjoy the sensation of spraying colours on a wall, we adapt our teaching style to match every individual’s ability level and interest. It’s all about the joy of creating.

How long does a typical session last?

Our workshops in Rhodes typically last between 1.5 to 3 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining engagement without causing fatigue. However, we are happy to adjust the timing based on your group's specific requirements. If you need more frequent breaks or a shorter, high-energy session, just let us know during the booking process and we will tailor the schedule for you.

Do I need to pay for the workshop in advance?

Actually, you don't! At Graffitifun, we believe in building trust. You can book your special needs graffiti workshop today and only pay once the session is complete. This gives you peace of mind and ensures you are 100% satisfied with the experience we provide. We accept various payment methods to make the process as smooth as possible for your organisation or family.

What should participants bring with them?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little 'artistic'—just in case! While we provide protective suits and gloves, graffiti can occasionally be a bit messy. Other than that, just bring your enthusiasm! We provide all the professional spray cans, caps, canvases, masks, and design templates needed to create something truly spectacular during our time together in Rhodes.

What is the maximum group size for this programme?

We usually suggest a minimum group size of 5 to keep the energy high, but we can accommodate much larger groups too. For special needs programmes, we prefer to keep the artist-to-participant ratio low to ensure everyone gets the dedicated support they deserve. If you have a very large group, we simply bring along more of our friendly professional artists to help out.

The experience

Why choose our special needs program in Rhodes? Because we focus on what participants can do, not what they can't. Our workshops offer a unique therapeutic benefit while being incredibly fun. Here is why it works:

Sensory Engagement: The sounds, smells, and sights of spray painting provide a stimulating sensory experience. 🌈
Motor Skills: Using spray cans helps develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination in a low-pressure environment.
Confidence Boost: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life gives participants a huge sense of accomplishment. 🏆
Social Connection: Working together on a group mural fosters teamwork and social interaction.
Safety First: We use specialized equipment and provide full protective gear for a worry-free session.
Expert Guidance: Our artists are trained to be patient, encouraging, and highly adaptable. 💪

Step by step

Initial consultation: Reach out to us to discuss the specific needs and interests of your group so we can tailor the session perfectly.
Design brainstorming: We start the workshop by looking at some cool street art examples and sketching out simple ideas on paper.
Safety briefing: Our artists demonstrate how to use the spray cans safely and help everyone get fitted into their protective gear.
Practice runs: Participants get a feel for the spray cans by practicing basic lines and dots on a rehearsal surface.
Outline creation: With the help of our artists, we begin sketching the main design onto the large boards or wall.
Filling with colour: This is the best part! Everyone gets to pick their favorite colours and fill in the masterpiece.
Adding the details: We use specialised caps to add highlights, shadows, and cool effects that make the art pop.
The big reveal: We take a step back to admire the collective work and snap some amazing group photos.
Certification: Every participant receives a "Graffitifun Artist" certificate to celebrate their creative achievement!

Local culture

Rhodes is a city where ancient history meets modern creativity. While the Medieval City is a UNESCO World Heritage site, the modern streets of Rhodes are increasingly becoming a canvas for local artists. Our workshops tap into this Mediterranean energy, blending the island's bright sunlight with the vivid hues of aerosol art. We often draw inspiration from the island's symbols—like the deer of Rhodes or the bright bougainvillea—reimagining them in a funky, urban style. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Rhodes was once home to the Colossus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World? We like to think our giant graffiti murals are the modern-day equivalent—bold, impressive, and impossible to miss! 🏛️
