Do university students need any prior art experience?

Absolutely! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from those who haven't touched a spray can to experienced illustrators. Our professional artists break down the process into simple, manageable steps. We focus on technique, safety, and flow, ensuring that even if you've never considered yourself 'artistic', you'll walk away with a piece you're proud of and a new appreciation for street culture. It's all about the experience!

What safety measures are in place during the workshop?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks and gloves, for every participant. Our workshops take place in well-ventilated areas, often outdoors, and we use professional-grade spray paints that meet safety standards. Our instructors are also trained to manage large university groups, ensuring everyone follows safety protocols while still having a blast and expressing their creativity safely and responsibly.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

Standard university workshops usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for an introduction to graffiti history, a demonstration of techniques like 'outlining' and 'filling', and plenty of hands-on time for students to create their own masterpieces. We can customise the duration to fit into your university's specific event schedule, whether it's a quick taster session or an afternoon-long deep dive.

Can the workshop be held on the university campus?

We're super flexible! We can bring the workshop to your campus if there's a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated courtyard. Alternatively, we can host the session at one of our partner locations in the local area. For Vina del Mar students, we often find that working near the vibrant creative energy of the city adds a whole new dimension to the creative process. We'll handle the logistics regardless!

What materials are included in the university package?

We provide everything! Your booking includes all the professional spray paint cans in a wide variety of colours, protective masks, gloves, and the surfaces for painting (usually canvases or boards). We also bring along our professional artists who provide expert guidance. Students just need to show up in clothes they don't mind getting a bit of paint on and bring plenty of energy to the session!

How does this help with student team building?

Applying graffiti techniques to a shared wall or large project is one of the best ways to build team spirit. Students have to communicate, plan their 'burners' together, and coordinate colours. It's a fantastic icebreaker for freshers or a great way for student societies to bond. It breaks down social barriers and encourages collaborative problem-solving in a way that traditional university workshops simply can't match.

Are we required to pay for the workshop upfront?

We believe in the quality of our workshops, which is why we offer a 'pay after the workshop' model. We don't require upfront payments or deposits to secure your date. This makes it much easier for university societies or departments to manage their budgets. You only pay once the spray paint has dried and everyone is buzzing from the experience. It's our 'fun guaranteed' promise to you!

Local culture

Vina del Mar isn't just about the beautiful beaches and the 'Garden City' vibes; it's a cornerstone of Chilean urban culture. Situated right next to the world-famous street art hub of Valparaiso, Vina has a unique aesthetic that blends coastal elegance with raw, creative energy. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, encouraging students from the local universities to look at their city through a different lens. From the mural-laden streets nearby to the modern campus environments, the inspiration is everywhere. 🌊

Fun Fact: Did you know that the nearby hills of Valparaiso are considered some of the most important open-air galleries in South America? Many of the artists we work with grew up honing their skills in these very streets! 🇨🇱
