The experience
Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next Dunedin youth event? It’s more than just a painting lesson; it’s an immersive experience that resonates with modern culture. 🏆
- Boosts Confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life from their own hands gives young people a massive sense of achievement.
- Team Building: Many of our projects involve creating a collaborative mural, requiring communication and shared vision. 🤝
- Creative Outlet: It provides a constructive and legal way to explore an often-misunderstood art form.
- Expert Mentors: Our Dunedin-based artists act as positive role models, sharing their passion and professional journey.
- All-Inclusive: We bring everything to you—no need to worry about sourcing cans or safety gear!

Step by step
- The initial kōrero: We kick things off with a quick intro to the history of street art and a safety briefing to get everyone in the right headspace.
- Sketching the vision: Before touching a can, the crew learns how to map out their ideas on paper, focusing on letter structure and flow.
- First lines: Participants grab their cans and practice 'nozzle control' on a practice wall to get a feel for the pressure and distance.
- Filling in: This is where the colour happens! We teach the youth how to apply solid fills and gorgeous gradients to make their work pop.
- Outlining and highlights: Our artists show the group how to sharpen their edges and add those crisp white 'shines' that give graffiti its 3D look.
- The final reveal: We step back as a group to admire the collective work, snap some epic photos, and celebrate the creative journey!
Good to know
Our youth projects are designed to be hassle-free for organisers. We provide all materials, including premium low-pressure spray paint (easier for beginners to control), canvases or boards, and full protective gear (masks, gloves, and suits). 🛡️
- Duration: Usually 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on your goals.
- Group Sizes: We cater to everything from small groups of 5 to large community events of 50+.
- Location: We can come to your venue in Dunedin, or we can arrange a suitable outdoor spot.
- Health & Safety: Full RAMS documentation is available, and our artists are experienced in managing youth group dynamics.
