Do the kids need to have prior drawing skills to join?

Not at all! Our youth projects are designed for everyone, from total beginners to those who already love to doodle. Our professional artists lead the group through the basics of spray control and lettering before we move on to the big stuff. It’s all about building confidence and having a blast with the cans, so no 'talent' is required—just a positive attitude!

Is the spray paint safe for young people to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep everyone safe and clean. All our paint is professional-grade but used under strict supervision. Our artists are experienced in managing groups and ensuring that the creative process remains fun, respectful, and safe for every participant from start to finish.

How long does a typical youth graffiti project last?

Our standard youth workshops in Malang typically last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, a demo, some practice/sketching, and then the main event where we create the final mural together. If you have a specific schedule or a full-day youth event planned, we can definitely adjust the timing to fit your needs perfectly!

What is the minimum or maximum group size?

We are super flexible! Whether you have a small group of 10 or a massive community event with over 100 participants, we can handle it. We have a large network of backup artists, so even for huge groups, we can maintain a high teacher-to-student ratio. This ensures everyone gets enough personal attention and stays engaged throughout the workshop.

Can we choose a specific theme for our project?

Absolutely! We love it when youth projects have a specific theme, such as 'sustainability', 'teamwork', or 'local pride'. During the planning phase, we’ll chat about your goals and help the group brainstorm ideas that fit the theme. It’s a great way to make the project more meaningful and ensure the final artwork reflects the community's values.

Where do the workshops actually take place?

We can work at your location if you have a suitable wall or space (with permission, of course!), or we can arrange a legal street art spot in Malang. If no wall is available, don't worry—we can set up large plastic 'cellograff' walls or canvases so the kids can still get the full experience without needing a permanent stone surface.

How do we handle payment and bookings?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our no-stress booking. You don't need to pay anything upfront! You only pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% happy with the result. We also have backup artists on standby to make sure your event goes ahead no matter what. It’s all about keeping things easy and fun for you.

Why choose Graffitifun for your youth project in Malang? It's simple: we make art accessible, exciting, and totally unforgettable. Here’s why our workshops are a hit:

Boosts confidence: Seeing a giant mural come to life from their own hands gives young people a massive sense of achievement. 💪
Expert mentors: Our artists aren't just talented; they're great at connecting with youth and sharing their passion.
Professional gear: We don't use cheap DIY kits. The kids use the same high-quality tools that the pros use. 🔥
Zero risk: With our 'pay after the workshop' policy and backup artists, your project is in safe hands.
Teamwork in action: Youth learn to collaborate, share space, and contribute to one big, beautiful goal. 🤝
Pure fun: Let's be honest—spraying paint on a wall is the ultimate stress-buster and a total blast!

Looking for something different? We also offer workshops for schools, kids parties, and even 3D street art!

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: Our artists kick things off with a brief history of street art and a look at different styles to get the creative juices flowing.
Safety first: Everyone gets geared up with masks and gloves. We explain the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely and respectfully.
The tag creator: Participants start by sketching their ideas or using our online Tag Creator to visualize their own unique signature.
Mastering the can: We head to the wall (or canvas) to learn 'can control'—how to make thin lines, fat fills, and cool gradients.
Outline & fill: The group starts bringing the main design to life, working together to fill in the large areas of the mural.
Adding the details: This is where the magic happens! We add highlights, shadows, and 'cuts' to make the artwork pop off the wall.
The final clean-up: We add a sharp outline to the whole piece, ensuring the final result looks professional and polished.
Photos & celebration: We wrap up with a group photo in front of the masterpiece and a quick recap of the skills learned during the day.

Local culture

Malang is a city blooming with creative energy, from the iconic colourful houses of Kampung Warna-Warni Jodipan to the hidden street art gems in the city's various 'kampungs'. It’s a place where tradition meets modern urban culture, making it the perfect backdrop for a youth graffiti project. The local youth scene here is incredibly vibrant, and we love tapping into that 'Arema' spirit of community and pride. 🦁

Fun Fact: Did you know that Malang was once known as the 'Paris of East Java' because of its cool climate and beautiful architecture? Today, its walls are becoming just as famous as its colonial buildings, thanks to a massive surge in local street art initiatives!

By bringing a graffiti workshop to Malang, you're not just teaching a craft; you're connecting young people to a global art movement that resonates perfectly with the city's artistic soul. Let's add some more colour to the streets of Malang together! ✨
