Do the participants need any prior art experience?

Absolutely! Our Medan youth projects are specifically designed for beginners. Our professional street artists guide the participants through every stage, from holding the spray can correctly to mastering advanced shading techniques. We focus on a 'learning by doing' approach that builds confidence quickly, ensuring everyone leaves with a piece of art they are truly proud of. Minimal artistic experience is required—just a positive attitude!

Is the graffiti workshop safe for young people?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality masks, gloves, and protective overalls to keep clothes clean. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially prepared indoor spaces. Furthermore, our instructors are highly experienced in managing groups and ensuring that the spray cans are used responsibly and safely throughout the entire session.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard youth project session in Medan typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for an introduction to the history of street art, a safety briefing, practice sessions on plastic film or boards, and finally, the creation of the main masterpiece. We can also adapt the duration for multi-day projects if you're looking for a more in-depth community mural experience.

Where in Medan do these workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible with locations! We can host the workshop at your youth centre, school grounds, or a local community park in Medan. If you don't have a venue, don't worry—we have access to several 'legal wall' spaces and creative hubs across the city where we can safely and legally spray. Just let us know your preference when booking.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

Our Medan workshops are all-inclusive. This means we provide premium spray paint in a huge variety of colours, specialized nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective clothing, and the surfaces to paint on (like large canvases or temporary wooden walls). If we are doing a permanent mural project, we also handle the wall priming and finishing coats. You just need to bring your enthusiasm!

What are the educational benefits of this project?

Street art is a fantastic way to teach teamwork, patience, and creative problem-solving. It gives young people a sense of ownership over their environment and a healthy outlet for self-expression. In Medan, our projects often focus on community themes, helping participants build social bonds while learning a unique skill set that bridges the gap between traditional fine art and modern urban culture.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

Medan weather can be unpredictable, but we always have a plan B! If the forecast looks rainy, we can often move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or use large indoor spaces with extra ventilation. We also have backup artists on standby for every booking, so you never have to worry about a cancellation from our side. Your creative project is in safe hands!

Total Creative Freedom: Unlike traditional art classes, graffiti encourages bold, large-scale expression that truly resonates with teens.
No Stress Booking: With our "no upfront payment" policy, you can plan your community event with total peace of mind.
Certified Professionals: Our artists aren't just great painters; they are experienced mentors who know how to engage and inspire young people.
Boosts Local Pride: Creating a mural in a Medan neighbourhood gives participants a lasting sense of achievement and community ownership.
Safety & Quality: We use top-tier equipment and safety gear, ensuring a professional experience from the first spray to the final tag.
Guaranteed Fun: We focus on the "fun" in Graffitifun—if the kids aren't smiling and covered in (safe) paint, we haven't done our job! 🏆

Step by step

The Kick-off: We start with an energetic introduction to the culture of graffiti and the plan for the day in Medan.
Design Thinking: Participants brainstorm themes and sketches, learning how to translate big ideas into bold outlines.
Safety First: Everyone gets geared up in masks and suits while we explain the "dos and don'ts" of spray paint.
Nozzle Control: A hands-on demo where youth learn to control pressure, distance, and line thickness with different caps.
Practice Sessions: Before hitting the main wall, we practice on cellophane "walls" or practice boards to build muscle memory.
Filling & Fading: The fun part! We start filling in the vibrant colours and learning how to blend and fade like a pro.
The Outline: Adding those sharp black or white outlines that make the artwork pop and look professionally finished.
Final Details: Adding highlights, "bubbles", and the all-important artist signatures to the completed mural.
The Big Reveal: We finish with a group photoshoot and a reflection on the amazing work the youth team has accomplished!
