Do we need any prior art experience to take part?

Absolutely not! Our Medan graffiti workshops are designed for everyone, from complete beginners to those who’ve dabbled in art before. Our professional artists break down the process into simple, manageable steps. We focus on technique, safety, and individual expression, ensuring that even if you've never held a spray can, you'll walk away with a piece of art you're genuinely proud of. It’s all about the experience and having a blast with your uni mates.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Standard university workshops in Medan usually run for about 2 hours, which provides the perfect balance of theory and hands-on painting. However, we are totally flexible! If you’re planning a larger campus festival or a more intensive creative seminar, we can scale the session from a quick 90-minute 'taster' to a full-day street art immersion. Just let us know your schedule, and we will make the timing work perfectly for your student group.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything you need to get creative! This includes high-quality spray paint in a huge range of colours, protective masks and gloves to keep you safe and clean, and the surfaces to paint on. We can set up mobile wooden walls or provide individual canvases depending on your project goals. All you need to bring is your energy and some clothes that you wouldn't mind getting a tiny splash of paint on!

Is the spray paint safe to use on campus?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks to filter out fumes, along with protective gloves. Our workshops are ideally held in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large, open indoor areas. Our mentors are experienced pros who supervise every spray, ensuring everyone follows the safety guidelines while having a great time. We make sure the environment is controlled, professional, and, most importantly, fun for every student involved.

How far in advance should we book our session?

Our Medan university workshops are very popular, so we recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance, especially during the start of term or festival seasons. However, we have a large team of backup artists in Indonesia, so if you have a last-minute request, definitely reach out! We always do our best to accommodate short-notice bookings whenever our schedule allows. There’s no upfront payment required, making the booking process stress-free for student committees.

Can we create a permanent mural on our campus?

Definitely! We love it when universities want to create something lasting. We can facilitate a collaborative mural project where students work together to design and paint a permanent (or semi-permanent) piece of street art on a designated campus wall. This is a fantastic way to boost campus spirit and leave a colourful legacy. If you have a specific wall in mind at your Medan faculty, let’s chat about the logistics and permissions!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Medan is famous for its incredible food and multicultural heritage, but look closer at the streets around the Great Mosque or the old colonial buildings, and you'll see a growing urban art scene that’s as spicy as the local sambal! The city’s creative pulse is beating faster than ever, with local artists blending traditional North Sumatran motifs with modern graffiti styles. 🎭

In Medan, street art isn't just about paint; it's about community and storytelling. From the bustling markets to the student hubs, there's a sense of communal pride that we bring into every university workshop. We tap into this local 'Medanese' grit and passion, encouraging students to express their own stories on our mobile walls.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Medan has some of the most vibrant mural districts in Sumatra? Many local artists use street art to highlight environmental issues and local folklore, making the city a literal open-air gallery! 🗺️
