Do we need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely! Most of our university participants in Surabaya have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the absolute basics, from how to hold the pressure nozzle to mastering 'fat caps' and 'skinny caps.' We provide a safe, encouraging environment where mistakes are just part of the process. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at the masterpiece you've created from scratch.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard university workshop in Surabaya usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a safety demonstration, technique practice, and the final creation of your mural or individual canvases. If you have a specific schedule or a shorter window between lectures, just let us know and we can tailor the timeframe to suit your group's needs.

What materials are included in the university package?

We’ve got you covered! Graffitifun provides everything required for a stellar creative session. This includes premium spray paint in a rainbow of colours, high-quality masks, protective gloves, and overall suits to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the 'canvas'—whether that's a mobile graffiti wall we set up at your campus or individual boards for everyone to take home. Just bring your energy!

Is it safe to use spray paint on a university campus?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide professional-grade FFP2 or FFP3 respiratory masks to every participant to ensure no fumes are inhaled. We also use high-quality spray paint that complies with safety standards. Our artists are trained in site safety and will manage the 'spray zone' to ensure a professional, secure environment for all students and staff throughout the entire event.

Where in Surabaya does the workshop take place?

We are incredibly flexible! We can bring our mobile graffiti walls directly to your campus courtyard, sports field, or car park. If you'd prefer to get away from the lecture halls, we can also arrange a session at a cool local spot in Surabaya. Our setup is designed to be mess-free for the surrounding environment, using protective floor coverings wherever we set up.

What is the maximum group size for a student event?

Our university workshops are great for groups of all sizes. Whether it's a small committee of 10 people or a massive campus-wide event with 100+ students, we can scale our team and materials to match. For very large groups, we often work in a 'walk-in' style where students can contribute to a massive collective mural throughout the day. Tell us your numbers, and we'll make it work!

What happens if it rains on the day of our event?

Surabaya can get some tropical rain! If your event is outdoors, we recommend having a backup indoor space like a gym or a covered parking area. If the weather looks truly uncooperative, we can usually reschedule or move to a sheltered location. Because we have a large team of backup artists, we are very reliable and will always do our best to ensure the paint keeps flowing.
