How long does a typical graffiti birthday party last?

Most of our Surabaya birthday workshops last between 90 minutes and 2 hours. This provides the perfect balance of learning time and creative freedom without the kids losing focus. If you have a larger group or want a more intricate masterpiece, we can easily extend the session to 3 hours. It’s a fast-paced, high-energy activity that keeps everyone engaged from the first spray to the final photo!

Is it safe for children to use spray cans?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and specialised masks for every child. We also use professional-grade spray paint that is safe when used under the guidance of our expert artists. Our instructors are trained to manage groups of children, ensuring they follow safety protocols while having the time of their lives in a controlled environment.

Do we need to provide any materials?

Not at all! We provide everything required for the ultimate street art experience. This includes professional spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective gear, masks, and the 'canvases' (whether that’s a collective wall or individual boards). We even bring the inspiration! You just need to provide the location and the enthusiastic kids—we’ll handle the messy bits and the artistic guidance.

Can the workshop take place indoors or outdoors?

Graffiti is a versatile art form! While we love working outdoors in the Surabaya sunshine, we can also set up indoors using low-odour paints or by protecting the area thoroughly with plastic sheeting. If you have a backyard, garage, or a rented community space, we can usually make it work. Just let us know your venue details, and we’ll find the best setup for your party.

What is the ideal age for a graffiti party? dressed to get messy?

We generally recommend our graffiti parties for children aged 6 and up. At this age, they have the hand strength to press the spray nozzles and the focus to follow the basic techniques. For teenagers, we ramp up the complexity, teaching them more advanced shading and 'wildstyle' lettering. It’s a massive hit with 'tweens' and teens who want a birthday that feels cool and unique.

What happens if our instructor can't make it?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. We have a large team of professional artists across Indonesia, meaning we always have backup artists ready to go. Unlike solo freelancers, we don't cancel. If an instructor falls ill, another steps in. Your Surabaya celebration is safe with us, providing you with total peace of mind for your big event.

Do the kids get to take their artwork home?

We offer two great options! The kids can work together on one massive, impressive mural that represents their friendship—a great photo op! Alternatively, each child can create their own individual piece on a canvas or board to take home. These make the world's coolest party bags! Let us know which style your birthday star prefers when you book.
