Do the participants need any prior art experience?

Absolutely not! Our Sofia youth projects are designed for everyone, from total beginners to budding Rembrandts. Our professional artists break down the process into easy, manageable steps. We start with basic lines and shapes before moving on to more complex techniques like shading and highlighting. By the time we finish, everyone will have created something they can be proud of, regardless of their prior artistic background.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything needed for a successful street art session in Sofia. This includes premium low-pressure spray cans (which are easier for beginners to control), high-quality caps for different line widths, protective overalls, gloves, and high-standard respiratory masks. We also provide various surfaces to paint on, from temporary walls to individual boards, depending on the specific goals of your youth project. Just bring your energy!

Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers?

Safety is our number one priority. We use professional-grade FFP2 or FFP3 respiratory masks to ensure no fumes are inhaled, and the workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor or large indoor spaces. Our Sofia instructors are highly experienced and provide a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can. We also provide protective clothing to keep everyone's outfits clean and paint-free throughout the day.

How long does a typical youth project session last?

A standard youth project workshop usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the creation of a final collaborative masterpiece. However, we are flexible! If you are planning a multi-day youth initiative or a shorter festival-style session in Sofia, we can adapt the schedule to fit your specific needs and timeline perfectly.

Can we work together on one large mural?

Definitely! Graffiti is inherently a collaborative art form. While we teach individual skills, the climax of our Sofia youth workshops is usually a large-scale mural where the whole group has to work together to create a cohesive piece of art. This encourages communication, negotiation, and collective problem-solving, making it an excellent team-building exercise for schools, youth clubs, and community groups looking to strengthen social bonds.

How much does it cost to hire Graffitfun for a youth event?

The cost of our youth projects in Sofia typically ranges from лв40 to лв90 per person. The final price depends on factors like the number of participants, the duration of the workshop, and the amount of materials required. Because every youth project is unique, we recommend using our online cost calculator or contacting us for a bespoke quote to ensure you get the best value for your group.

What happens if we need to cancel or if the artist is sick?

We have a 'no stress' booking policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront; payment is only required after the workshop is successfully completed. Additionally, we have a large team of professional artists, so we always have backup artists available. This means that even in the unlikely event of an instructor falling ill, your youth project in Sofia will go ahead as planned without any cancellations.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth initiative in the Bulgarian capital? It’s more than just a hobby—it’s a powerful tool for social development! 🔥

✅ Boosts self-esteem: Seeing a giant mural they helped create gives kids a massive sense of pride.
✅ Teamwork in action: You can't paint a 10-metre wall alone; these sessions focus on communication and collaboration.
✅ Safe & legal: We provide a controlled environment to explore urban art responsibly.
✅ Unplug and create: Get the kids away from screens and into a tactile, physical, and creative activity.
✅ Expert mentors: Our artists aren't just talented; they are passionate mentors who love inspiring the next generation. 🏆

Step by step

Safety first: We kick things off with a full safety briefing and get everyone suited up in protective gear and masks.
History & culture: A quick, engaging chat about the roots of street art and how it evolved into the global phenomenon it is today.
Can control: Learn the basics of how to hold the spray can, how to swap nozzles (caps), and how to control pressure for different effects.
Sketching the vision: Participants grab markers and paper to brainstorm their designs and plan their contribution to the mural.
The 'first line' practice: Everyone gets a dedicated space to practice basic lines, dots, and fills to build confidence.
Filling & fading: Our Sofia pros show you how to apply solid colours and create those iconic smooth gradients and fades.
Outlining & highlights: The magic step where the artwork starts to 'pop' as we add sharp outlines and bright highlights.
The final masterpiece: The group works together on the main wall, combining their new skills to create a stunning piece of urban art.
Photos & cleanup: We wrap up with a group photo session in front of the art and ensure the site is left tidy and professional.

Local culture

Sofia is a city where history meets the cutting edge, and our street art scene is no different. From the iconic murals in the Hadzhi Dimitar district to the hidden gems in the Tsar Ivan Shishman backstreets, Sofia's walls tell a story of transformation. Our youth projects tap into this local energy, encouraging participants to contribute to the city’s evolving visual landscape in a positive, constructive way. We don't just teach art; we connect the youth with the local urban culture that makes Sofia so unique. 🇧🇬

Fun fact: Did you know Sofia is home to some of Europe's most famous "Electrical Box" art? Walking down the street is like visiting an open-air gallery, which serves as the perfect inspiration for our workshop participants! 🎉
