Do I need to have any artistic experience to join?

Absolutely! Most of our participants have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists are expert teachers who break down the process into easy, manageable steps. We start with basic lines and shapes before moving on to more complex techniques like shading and highlighting. You'll be amazed at the masterpiece you can create by the end of the session, even with zero prior experience.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need for the ultimate graffiti experience. This includes professional-grade spray paint in a huge variety of vibrant colours, specialized spray caps for different effects, high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. Depending on the workshop format, we also provide the canvases or boards that serve as your masterpiece's foundation. You just need to show up and bring your energy!

Is the workshop safe for everyone?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paints and provide all participants with professional-grade protective gear, including masks and gloves. Our instructors are trained to manage groups safely and ensure everyone follows proper handling techniques. We also choose workshop locations with adequate ventilation to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all participants to get creative.

What happens if it rains on the day of my workshop?

Toronto weather is unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered! While many sessions happen outdoors to capture that authentic street vibe, we always have backup plans. In case of rain or extreme cold, we can move the workshop to a covered or ventilated indoor space. We also have a network of backup artists to ensure your event never gets cancelled due to artist availability. Rain or shine, the art goes on!

How long does the graffiti workshop usually last?

A standard public art graffiti workshop typically lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of the culture, a demo of basic techniques, and plenty of hands-on time for you to paint. We can also customize the duration for larger corporate events or school groups. The time flies when you’re in the 'flow' and having fun with the paint!

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

We are very flexible! We can host small private groups, medium-sized bachelor parties, or massive corporate brand activations with hundreds of participants. Whether you are a solo artist looking to learn or a company looking for a unique team-building experience in the 6ix, we can scale our setup and number of instructors to perfectly match your group size and goals.

How do I book a workshop and when do I pay?

Booking is super easy and stress-free. You can start by using our online Cost Calculator to get an instant estimate, or simply send us a message with your preferred date and group size. The best part? There is no upfront payment required! You can book your spot and pay after the workshop is completed, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with your creative experience.

Local culture

Toronto is a world-renowned hub for street culture, boasting iconic spots like Graffiti Alley (Rush Lane) which runs parallel to Queen Street West. Our workshops tap into this local energy, drawing inspiration from the massive murals in the Riverside district and the eclectic art of Kensington Market. We celebrate the city's diverse artistic heritage, from traditional indigenous influences to the modern "style writing" found in the Don Valley.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Toronto was one of the first cities in North America to create an official "Street Art Toronto" (StART) program to support local muralists? This unique initiative has helped turn the city into a giant open-air gallery, and during our workshop, you'll learn exactly why the 416 is such a vital spot on the global graffiti map! 🎨
