Step by step

  1. Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy chat about the history of street art and how it evolved from the streets of New York to the laneways of Toronto.
  2. Safety first: Every student gets geared up with a professional mask, gloves, and a protective suit. We explain how to use the equipment responsibly.
  3. The first line: Our artists demonstrate basic techniques—how to control the pressure, distance, and angle of the spray can to move from blobs to sharp lines.
  4. Sketching the vision: Students use markers or light spray to sketch their design. We encourage them to think big and bold!
  5. Color & fill: This is where the magic happens. Kids learn how to fill in their shapes and create cool gradients using a variety of vibrant colours.
  6. The outline: We teach the "pro trick" of outlining, which makes the artwork pop and look like a real piece of street art.
  7. Character & flair: Students add highlights, shadows, or "bubbles" to give their work personality and unique Toronto style.
  8. Grand reveal: We step back as a group to admire the finished masterpiece, whether it's a individual canvas or a massive school mural.
  9. Cleanup & wrap-up: We pack up all materials and leave the site spotless, leaving behind only the incredible artwork and some very inspired kids!

Good to know

Our Toronto workshops are designed to be "plug and play" for schools. We bring all the supplies, including premium spray paint, caps, and safety gear. Sessions usually last between 90 minutes and 2 hours, making them perfect for a double-period art block. We can work with small groups or entire grade levels—we just bring more artists! Safety is handled with professional-grade respirators and full-body suits to keep those school uniforms clean. 🛡️

Local culture

Street art in Toronto

Toronto is a world-renowned hub for street art, from the iconic Graffiti Alley (Rush Lane) to the stunning murals in the Underpass Park. We bring that local "6ix" spirit into every workshop, teaching kids about the artists who have shaped our city's visual identity. We love incorporating local Toronto vibes into our designs—think CN Tower silhouettes or Raccoon mascots!

Fun Fact: Did you know that Toronto has an official "Street Art Toronto" (StART) program? The city actually encourages murals to reduce vandalism and brighten up neighborhoods—exactly the kind of positive community message we teach your students! 🎨

We believe every student in the GTA should have access to high-quality art experiences. Our primary school workshops are priced competitively to fit within school budgets:
