Do I need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Most of our participants have never touched a spray can before. Our professional Toronto artists walk you through everything from basic nozzle control to advanced layering techniques. We provide a safe, supportive environment where the goal is to have fun and express yourself. You'll be amazed at what you can create with just a little bit of guidance and a few cans of high-quality paint. Peace of mind is guaranteed!

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little 'artistic' on. While we provide high-quality protective overalls and gloves, graffiti can sometimes be a bit messy. Think of it as your urban explorer outfit! If it's an outdoor session, dress for the Toronto weather—layers are always a smart move in the 6ix. We take care of all the specialized safety gear like masks.

Is the spray paint safe to use?

The safety of our guests is our number one priority. We provide professional-grade respiratory masks, nitrile gloves, and protective suits. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated areas to ensure everyone breathes easy. Our artists are also trained in safety protocols and will supervise the use of spray cans at all times, making this a safe, high-energy activity for pulse-pounding cultural exploration without the risks.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Our typical cultural event workshops last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us plenty of time for professional demonstrations, individual practice, and the final creation of your masterpiece. We can also customize the timing to fit your specific event schedule in Toronto, whether you need a quick creative break or an afternoon-long deep dive into the world of urban street art.

Do I need to pay for the workshop upfront?

No way! At Graffitifun, we believe in flexibility and trust. You can book your Toronto graffiti experience today and pay after the workshop is completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the experience before any money changes hands. We want your focus to be on the art and the culture, not on upfront administrative hurdles. It’s all about the good vibes and creative energy!

What happens if the artist is sick or can't make it?

We are prepared for anything! Graffitifun works with a large network of professional artists in the GTA. In the rare event of an artist being unavailable, we have backup artists ready to step in so your event never gets cancelled. Whether your event is at a local community center or a downtown venue, we make sure the show goes on with the same high level of quality.

What is your policy for outdoor workshops during bad weather?

Toronto weather can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered. If you have an outdoor event planned and the weather doesn't cooperate, we can often move the workshop to a sheltered location or provide indoor alternatives using canvases or specialized low-odor paints. We always coordinate with you ahead of time to ensure a 'Plan B' is in place so your cultural experience isn't washed out.

Local culture

Toronto’s street art scene is world-renowned, centered around the legendary Graffiti Alley (Rush Lane), which stretches for nearly a kilometer of pure, rotating outdoor art. It’s not just about the paint; it’s about the stories of the Queen West neighborhood and the diverse voices that make the 6ix so unique. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, often taking inspiration from the city's multicultural roots and iconic landmarks.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Toronto was one of the first North American cities to create an official "Street Art Program" (StART) to support local muralists and reduce illegal tagging by providing legal spaces for creativity?

We embrace this professionalized approach to street art, ensuring our workshops are respectful of the local community while giving you an authentic taste of the underground. From the Distillery District to Kensington Market, the creative pulse of Toronto is what drives our passion for these workshops. ✨
