How long does a typical after-school graffiti session last?

Our after-school workshops in Nitra generally run for 1.5 to 2 hours. This provides ample time for an introduction to street art history, a safety briefing, technique practice on cardboard, and the final creation of a masterpiece. We find this duration keeps energy levels high and ensures every student finishes their project without feeling rushed. If you have specific scheduling needs for your school club, we are happy to adjust the timing to fit your bell schedule.

Is the spray paint safe for students to use?

Safety is our absolute priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep clothes clean and lungs safe. Our professional artists supervise the group at all times, ensuring spray cans are used responsibly. We use low-pressure cans which are much easier for younger artists to control, making the experience safe, manageable, and fun for various age groups within the school environment.

Do students need any prior drawing or art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our 'Graffitifun' instructors are experts at breaking down complex murals into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Whether a student is a natural artist or has never picked up a sketchbook, they will leave the session with a piece of art they are proud of. It’s all about building confidence and trying something new in a supportive, creative atmosphere.

Where in Nitra do these workshops take place?

We are fully mobile! We can bring the workshop directly to your school grounds in Nitra if there is a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated indoor area with floor protection. Alternatively, we can help arrange a session at a local legal graffiti wall to give the students a truly authentic experience. We bring all the necessary equipment, including boards, paint, and protection, so you don't have to worry about the logistics.

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

While graffiti is our main focus, the skills learned—like spatial awareness, colour theory, and creative problem-solving—are highly transferable. Many schools find that these workshops re-engage students who might struggle with traditional academic subjects. It’s a fantastic way to promote teamwork and self-expression. Plus, it’s a great way to show students the difference between illegal vandalism and the respected global art form of street art.

What should students wear and what do they need to bring?

We recommend comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a little bit of dust on. Even though we provide full protective overalls, spray paint has a way of finding its way onto shoes! We provide everything else: high-quality spray cans in a rainbow of colours, caps (nozzles), masks, gloves, and the canvases or boards that the students will work on. Just bring your enthusiasm and your most creative ideas!

How do we book a session for our Nitra youth group?

The best part? There is no upfront payment required. You only pay after the workshop is completed, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with the experience we provided for your students. Ready to bring some colour to the school week? Let's get creative!

Step by step

Intro and history: We kick things off with a brief, high-energy talk about the roots of graffiti culture and how it evolved into modern street art.
Safety first: Every student gets geared up with masks, gloves, and overalls. We explain the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely.
The tag creator: Students start by sketching their ideas. We help them brainstorm a 'tag' or a nickname that represents their personality.
Nozzle knowledge: We demonstrate how different 'caps' create different lines—from thin outlines to fat fills. It's all about finger pressure!
Practice runs: Before hitting the final canvas, everyone gets to practice their spray technique on cardboard to get a feel for the flow.
Main creation: Now for the big one! Students start layering their colours onto their main boards, guided step-by-step by our pro artists.
Fine-tuning: We teach techniques like 'cutting' and highlighting to make the artwork pop and look professionally finished.
The exhibition: We finish with a group gallery walk-through where students can show off their work and take photos of their masterpieces.

Good to know

Our after-school sessions are designed to be hassle-free for organisers and unforgettable for students. Here is what you need to know:

Weather: For outdoor sessions, we always recommend a covered backup area, but we can also work indoors with proper ventilation and floor protection.

Local culture

Nitra, known as the 'Mother of Slovak Cities', has a rich heritage that provides the perfect backdrop for modern creative expression. While the city is famous for its ancient history and the stunning Zobor Hill, there is a growing appreciation for contemporary urban culture. We love bringing our workshops to Nitra because the students here have a unique perspective, often blending local tradition with modern street style. Whether we are setting up near the Andrej Bagar Theatre or in the quieter school courtyards of Chrenová, the energy is always electric.

Fun fact: Did you know that graffiti-style art has been found in archaeological sites worldwide? While Nitra’s history goes back to the 9th century, we are here to help the youth of today leave a positive, colourful legacy for the 21st century!

By engaging with street art in a legal and structured way, Nitra's youth learn to respect their city's architecture while finding outlets for their own creative voices. We've seen incredible talent emerge from the local schools, and we are proud to be part of the city's evolving art scene.

We believe high-quality art education should be accessible. Our pricing is transparent and flexible based on your school's specific needs.
