Is the graffiti workshop safe for primary school children?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves, masks, and overalls, to keep every child safe and clean. Our instructors are professional artists who are experienced in working with primary school children, ensuring that the spray cans are used correctly and that everyone follows the safety guidelines throughout the entire session. We make sure it's all fun without the fuss!

Do we need to provide our own spray paint or materials?

No way! We provide everything the students need to become street art pros for the day. This includes a wide variety of premium spray paint colours, protective clothing, masks, gloves, and the surfaces they will be painting on. Whether we are using professional-grade canvases or large mobile boards, you don't need to worry about a thing. Just make sure the kids wear old clothes and shoes, just in case!

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Nitra's weather can be a bit unpredictable, but we've got you covered. If the sun is shining, we love to work outdoors to get that authentic street art vibe. However, if the Slovakian rain decides to show up, we can easily move the workshop indoors to a gym, large hall, or even use our special plastic 'graffiti walls' that keep the area clean. We always have a backup plan!

How long does a typical school workshop last?

Our workshops are designed to be flexible! For primary schools in Nitra, we typically recommend a session duration of 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives the children enough time to learn the basic techniques, practice their 'tagging' and 'throwing', and complete their final masterpiece without losing focus. We can adjust the timing based on your school's specific schedule or lesson blocks.

How many students can participate in one session?

We believe every child should have the chance to be creative! We can accommodate small classes or entire year groups. For larger groups, we simply bring more professional artists to ensure every student gets personal guidance and support. We maintain a high artist-to-student ratio so that the atmosphere stays energetic, managed, and educational. Just let us know your numbers, and we will scale the fun!

Do the children need to have any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are perfect for complete beginners. Our Nitra-based instructors start with the very basics: how to hold the can, how to control the pressure, and how to create different line widths. We guide the children step-by-step through the process, from their first sketch to the final spray. It’s amazing to see how quickly their confidence grows as they see their artwork come to life!

How does the payment process work for schools?

We make the booking process as easy as possible for schools. You don't need to pay anything upfront to secure your date. We believe in our service so much that you only pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied with the experience. We can provide all the necessary invoicing and documentation required by Slovakian school administrations to make the administrative side totally stress-free for your staff.

The experience

Why bring a graffiti workshop to your Nitra school? Because sitting at a desk is great, but creating a 2-metre tall masterpiece is better! Here is why schools love working with us:

Boosts Confidence: Even kids who think they "can't draw" find success with graffiti techniques, giving them a massive state of achievement. 🎤
Team Building: Many of our school projects involve collective murals, requiring students to communicate and collaborate on a grand scale. 🤝
Total Safety: We use high-quality, low-odour paints and provide all necessary PPE to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Professional Mentorship: Our artists aren't just painters; they are mentors who encourage positive self-expression and respect for public spaces. ✨
Hassle-Free for Teachers: We bring everything, set everything up, and clean everything up. You just bring the students!
Pay After Success: With our "pay later" policy, there's zero risk for your school's budget. We prove our value first! 🥇

Step by step

Intro & Inspiration: We start with a high-energy kick-off where our artists share the history of street art and show off some cool 'pieces' to get the kids excited. ✨
Safety First: Every student gets kitted out in protective masks, gloves, and overalls. We explain the 'Golden Rules' of using spray cans safely. 🛡️
Mastering the Can: The kids head to their practice boards to learn 'can control'. They’ll practice dots, lines, and flares to get a feel for the paint flow. 🎨
Sketching the Vision: Before the permanent paint comes out, the students map out their designs using chalk or pencils, planning their unique letters and shapes.
The Outline: Time to make it real! Students use their chosen colours to outline their main graffiti 'tag' or character on their canvas or wall. 🔥
Filling & Fading: Our artists teach them how to create cool gradients and solid fills, making their artwork pop with vibrant Nitra-inspired colour schemes.
Adding the Detail: This is where the magic happens! We add highlights, 3D shadows, and 'second outlines' to give the art depth and professional flair. 🏆
The Big Reveal: We finish with a group gallery walk where everyone gets to celebrate each other's work and take some epic group photos! 📸

Local culture

Nitra is a city where ancient history meets a modern, youthful vibe! While the city is famous for its majestic castle and the historical treasures of Upper Town, it also has a growing appreciation for contemporary art forms. Our workshops celebrate this mix, encouraging students to draw inspiration from Nitra's beautiful landscapes and its status as a vibrant university town. We love bringing this urban art form to the primary schools of the 'Slovakian Rome', helping kids see their city through a fresh, colourful lens.

🎨 Fun Fact for Nitra: Did you know that Nitra is one of the oldest cities in Slovakia? While monks were writing manuscripts here over a thousand years ago, today's students are using spray cans to write their own stories on canvas! It’s a literal evolution of Nitra's storytelling tradition!

Pricing

Affordable Art for Every Student

The final price depends on the number of students, the duration of the workshop, and whether they are painting on individual canvases to take home or a large collective mural.
