Is the graffiti workshop safe for secondary school students?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to keep your students' clothes clean. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups and ensure the spray cans are used responsibly. We always recommend holding the workshop in a well-ventilated outdoor space or a designated graffiti area in Nitra to ensure everyone breathes easy while getting creative.

How long does a typical workshop last?

We want your school day to run smoothly, so we are totally flexible! Most secondary school workshops last between 90 minutes and 3 hours. A 2-hour session is usually the 'sweet spot'—it gives students enough time to learn the basic techniques, practice their tags, and complete a full-scale mural without feeling rushed. If you have a specific lunch break or lesson schedule to stick to, just let us know!

Do students need any prior art skills or experience?

Zero experience is required! Our workshop is designed specifically for beginners. Our artists break down the process into simple, manageable steps, from holding the can correctly to layering colours. It is amazing to see students who claim they 'can’t draw' walk away with a professional-looking piece of art. We focus on boosting confidence and showing that everyone has a creative side waiting to be unleashed.

Where in Nitra do the workshops take place?

We usually come to you! We can host the workshop right on your school grounds in Nitra, provided there is a suitable outdoor wall or we can set up our mobile plastic film walls. If you’d prefer to get out of the classroom, we can often arrange a session at a local 'Hall of Fame' (legal graffiti wall) where students can experience the authentic street art atmosphere of the city.

What materials are included in the price?

We bring everything! The price includes all professional spray paint (in a wide variety of vibrant colours), caps, protective gear, and the surfaces to paint on. We can paint on large canvases that the school can keep, or we can set up temporary 'walls' using industrial stretch wrap. You just need to provide the space and the enthusiastic students—we handle the messy logistics and the clean-up!

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

Graffiti is a fantastic tool for team building and mental health. It encourages students to work together on large-scale projects, improves communication, and provides a much-needed emotional outlet. It’s a physical, hands-on activity that gets them away from screens and helps build self-esteem. Plus, it’s a brilliant way to teach the difference between illegal vandalism and professional street art as a respected career path.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Nitra's weather can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered. If the forecast looks dodgy, we can often move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or use large indoor spaces with specific low-odour water-based paints and extra ventilation. If things look really bad, we have backup artists and flexible scheduling to help find a better day for your creative session. We make sure the fun goes ahead!

Boosts Creativity: Students move beyond the sketchbook and think big on a massive scale! 🚀
Team Spirit: Collective murals require communication, planning, and supporting one another.
Legal & Safe: We teach the difference between art and vandalism, promoting respect for public spaces. 🛡️
Inclusive Activity: You don't need to be a 'pro artist' to enjoy this—everyone finds their style.

Professional Guidance: Learn from real street artists who live and breathe this culture. 🎤

Step by step

Introduction & Safety Brief: We kick things off with a quick chat about graffiti history and hand out all the protective gear like masks and gloves.
Mastering the Can: Students learn the 'nozzle basics'—how to control pressure, create thin lines, and fill in large areas without drips.
Sketching Your Vision: Our artists help students sketch their ideas on paper or directly on the wall, focusing on letter structure and flow.
Outline & Filling: It’s time to spray! Students start filling in their designs with their chosen colour palettes under expert guidance.
Adding Character: We teach professional tricks like 'highlights', '3D shadows', and 'shines' to make the artwork pop off the surface.
The Final Cut: The expert artists show how to do 'clean outlines' to give the piece that sharp, professional street art finish.
Group Photo & Celebration: We finish with a group shot of the crew and their masterpiece—a great memory for the school yearbook!
