Do we need any previous art experience to enjoy the workshop?

You don't need to be the next Banksy to have a blast! Our Rotorua workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our pro artists will guide you through everything from holding the can to master-level shading. Most people are actually blown away by what they can create in just a couple of hours. It’s all about letting loose and having a go in a supportive, high-energy environment.

Is spray painting indoors actually safe?

Safety is our top priority, especially for an indoor party. We use low-odour, high-quality spray paints and provide all necessary protective gear, including masks and gloves. We also ensure the indoor space has adequate ventilation or set up specialized extraction if required. You get to enjoy the edgy street art vibe without any of the risks or the mess on your own clothes!

What should we wear to our graffiti party?

We recommend wearing 'old-friendly' clothes and sneakers. Even though we provide protective ponchos and gloves, those tiny paint particles can be sneaky! It’s best to wear something you wouldn't mind getting a little 'artistic' on. Once you're suited up, you're free to spray away without worrying about ruining your favourite gear. Better safe than sorry when the paint starts flying!

How long does a typical indoor session last?

A standard indoor party workshop usually runs for about 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a quick intro, some practice runs on the 'training wall,' and then the main event where you create your masterpiece. We can adjust the timing if you have a tight schedule for your event in Rotorua, but 120 minutes is usually the sweet spot for maximum fun.

Can we choose the location in Rotorua for the party?

While we can’t spray directly on the walls of a rented venue (unless they’re cool with it!), we bring our own specialized mobile walls or canvases. This means we can turn almost any indoor space in Rotorua into a pop-up street art studio. Whether it's a community hall, a warehouse, or a hotel function room, we bring the vibe to you without leaving a permanent mark.

Can we request a specific theme or design for our workshop?

Absolutely! We love it when groups want to paint something specific, like a birthday name, a stag do theme, or a company logo. Just let us know your ideas beforehand, and our artists will help pre-sketch or guide you through the process. It makes the final artwork a great souvenir of your Rotorua indoor party that you can actually take home with you.

The experience

Why settle for another boring pub crawl or bowling session? An indoor graffiti workshop grabs your event by the horns and injects some serious "wow" factor. Here is why you should book with us in Rotorua:

Weather-proof fun: Don't let the Rotorua rain dampen your spirits—keep it indoors and the vibes high! ☔
Take-home art: Create a physical memory of your party that you can actually hang on your wall. 🖼️
Expert guidance: Work with real street artists who live and breathe the culture, not just instructors. 🎤
Zero stress: No upfront payment required—we trust you to have a good time and pay once the fun is done! ✅
Total inclusivity: Whether you're 18 or 80, anyone can pick up a can and create something awesome. ⚡
Fully mobile: We bring the entire studio to you, wherever you are in Rotorua or the surrounding area. 🚗

Step by step

Kick-off & intro: We start with a high-energy intro where you meet your pro graffiti artist and get the lowdown on the plan for the day.
Safety first: Everyone gets kitted out in protective gear—masks, gloves, and ponchos—to keep things clean while we get messy.
The basics: Learn how to handle the can, control the pressure, and swap nozzles for different line widths.
Practice rounds: Hit the practice boards to get a feel for the spray. You'll be surprised how quickly you settle into the flow!
Masterpiece planning: Decide on your design or follow our lead as we start sketching the "bones" of your main artwork.
Filling & fading: This is the fun part! Add vibrant colours, learn "fading" techniques, and build up the layers of your piece.
The outlines: Sharpen everything up with crisp black outlines and "highlights" that make the art pop off the surface.
The reveal: Step back, drop the cans, and admire the group's work. It's the perfect time for a crew photo!

Good to know

Duration: Standard sessions run for 1.5 to 3 hours, tailored to your party's schedule.

Location: We can come to your venue in Rotorua or help you find a suitable indoor spot to host the event.

Local culture

Rotorua might be world-famous for its bubbling mud pools and geothermal wonders, but its urban art scene is just as hot! The city has seen a massive surge in mural art recently, with the "Rotorua Walls" project turning local buildings into stunning canvases that celebrate Māori legend and modern kiwi culture. Our indoor workshops tap into this local spirit of storytelling and creativity. Imagine painting your own street art just a stone's throw from the iconic Government Gardens or the bustling Eat Streat. 🌳🔥

Fun local fact: Rotorua's name in full is Te Rotorua-nui-a-Kahumatamomoe. While the lake is the heart of the city, the vibrant murals in the CBD are quickly becoming its colourful soul!
