Is the graffiti workshop safe for all participants?

Absolutely! Participant safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for everyone involved. Our professional artists lead a comprehensive safety briefing before any cans are shaken. Because we host these events in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large indoor areas in Rotorua, you can focus entirely on the fundraising and the fun without any worries about health or safety.

Do we need any prior artistic experience to participate?

Not at all. Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our Graffitifun artists walk everyone through the basics, from 'can control' to 'fading' and 'outlining.' We find that some of the most impressive charity murals come from people who didn't think they had a creative bone in their body! It’s all about the energy, the cause, and having a go together.

Where in Rotorua can we host the charity event?

We are incredibly flexible! We can bring the workshop to your specific venue in Rotorua, or we can help suggest great local spots that have the space and vibe required for a spray-paint event. Whether it's a community hall car park or a private courtyard, we bring all the drop cloths and protection needed to keep the site clean—except for the designated canvas!

What materials are included in the charity package?

We provide everything required for a successful creative session. This includes a wide range of premium spray paint colours, protective gear (suits, gloves, masks), professional canvases or boards, and the expert guidance of our street artists. You just need to bring the participants, some old shoes you don't mind getting a bit of dust on, and your passion for your cause.

What happens if it rains on the day of our fundraiser?

Rain doesn't have to stop the art! If the weather takes a turn, we often move the workshop to a sheltered or indoor location using low-odour paints or focusing on smaller canvases. Because we have backup artists and a flexible team, we work closely with you to ensure the event goes ahead smoothly regardless of the Rotorua weather. We're pros at pivoting to keep the fun alive.

How many people can join the workshop at once?

The beauty of graffiti art is its scale! We can accommodate small community groups of 10 people up to large-scale corporate charity days with 100+ participants. For very large groups, we often set up multiple 'stations' or a rotating schedule so everyone gets plenty of time with the spray cans and individual guidance from our professional artists.

How long does a typical charity graffiti session last?

Our standard charity workshops usually run between 1.5 and 3 hours. This allows enough time for a safety demo, practicing basic techniques, and then collaborating on the final masterpiece. However, we can customise the duration to fit your event schedule—whether you want a quick 'have-a-go' station or a deep-dive creative afternoon.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next fundraiser in Rotorua? Because standard events are forgettable, but creating art is forever! Here’s why it’s a winner:

High engagement: It’s not just a donation; it’s an experience that gets people talking and sharing on social media. 🎤
Tangible results: You end up with a stunning piece of art that can be auctioned off or displayed in your headquarters.
Unleash hidden talent: You'd be surprised how many of your donors are secret street art legends just waiting for a can! 🔥
Inclusivity: Street art is for everyone—regardless of age, background, or physical ability.
Stress-free planning: We provide everything from the masks to the paint, so you can focus on your donors.
Total flexibility: We can theme the entire session around your specific charity goals. 🎯

Step by step

Initial kōrero: Reach out to us with your charity goals, estimated group size, and preferred dates in Rotorua.
Design the concept: We’ll brainstorm a theme that reflects your cause—whether it’s a specific logo, a community message, or a collaborative mural.
Set the stage: On the day, our team arrives early to set up the 'graffiti zone' with protective flooring, canvases, and all the gear.
Safety first: We suit up everyone in protective gear and give a quick, high-energy demo on how to use the equipment safely and effectively.
Skills session: Participants start by practicing basic lines, shapes, and filling techniques on practice boards to get their 'can-confidence' up.
The main creation: Everyone moves to the main charity mural or individual canvases, applying their new skills to create a stunning piece of street art.
Professional finishing: Our lead artists add those 'pro touches'—sharpening outlines and adding highlights—to ensure the final result looks world-class.
reveal and auction: The artwork is completed! Many groups choose to auction the pieces off immediately to raise additional funds for their charity.
Pack down: We handle the entire cleanup, leaving the venue exactly as we found it, but with more colourful memories!

Local culture

Rotorua is a city where tradition meets modern creativity, and the street art scene here is growing faster than a geyser! From the stunning murals near the Rotorua Lakefront to the hidden gems in the CBD, the city is a canvas of cultural storytelling. Our workshops tap into this local 'mana' (prestige), encouraging participants to express themselves in a way that feels authentic to the Bay of Plenty's unique vibe. 🌲

Fun Fact: Did you know Rotorua is home to some incredible Māori-inspired street art that blends traditional whakairo (carving) patterns with modern graffiti techniques? We love helping local charities incorporate these cultural elements into their event murals!

Whether you're located near Ngongotahā or closer to the Redwoods, we bring the workshop to you, ensuring your charity event feels like a true Rotorua community celebration. ✨
