Will the kids get paint on their nice communion clothes?

Absolutely! While the spray paint we use is high-quality, it can be stubborn on clothes. We provide all participants with protective overalls and gloves to keep those beautiful communion outfits safe. However, we always recommend that kids (and adults!) wear comfortable 'play' clothes underneath just in case they get a bit extra enthusiastic with their masterpieces!🎨🏠

Do the children need to have any artistic skills to participate?

Not at all! Our professional graffiti artists are experts at teaching absolute beginners. We start with the basics of nozzle control and simple lines before moving on to the bigger project. Most kids discover a hidden talent they never knew they had within the first twenty minutes. It is all about having a go and enjoying the creative process in a supportive environment.✨🖌️

Where in Rotorua do the workshops take place?

Our workshops are mobile and we can set up at your chosen venue in Rotorua. Whether it is a backyard, a rented community hall, or a park (with local council permission), we bring everything to you. We use specialized mobile graffiti walls or large canvases, so we leave your venue exactly as we found it—just with some extra happy memories!📍🌳

Is the spray paint safe for children to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality masks and gloves for every guest, and our spray paints are low-odour professional artist brands. Our instructors are experienced in managing groups of children and ensure that everyone follows safety protocols while having the time of their lives. We make sure the creative energy stays fun and safe for all ages.🛡️✅

How long does the graffiti workshop last?

A standard communion celebration workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us plenty of time for a safety briefing, some practice runs on the wall, and the completion of a large group mural or individual canvases. We can adjust the duration to fit perfectly within your party schedule so the fun never feels rushed!⏱️🎈

What is the maximum number of guests we can invite?

We believe the more, the merrier! We can accommodate groups as small as 10 or larger parties of 30 or more. For bigger groups, we simply bring along additional backup artists to ensure every child gets the attention and guidance they need to create something truly spectacular. We scale our setup to fit your specific guest list perfectly.👨👩👧👦🔥

The experience

Why settle for a boring bouncy castle when you can give the kids a real creative outlet? A graffiti workshop is the ultimate "cool factor" for any Rotorua communion celebration. Here’s why parents love it:

No mess for you: We provide protective flooring and gear, taking the "mess" completely out of your hands. 🏠
Inclusive fun: Boys, girls, cousins, and even the "cool" aunties can join in regardless of their artistic skill level. 🎨
Take-home art: Kids can work on individual canvases that double as the coolest party favours ever! 🏆
Confidence booster: There is nothing like seeing a child’s face light up when they realise they’ve actually made a piece of "real" art. 💪
Zero stress booking: With our backup artists and no upfront payment, your booking is safe as houses. ✅
Great photos: The vibrant colours and spray cans make for some of the best action shots you'll ever get! 📸

Step by step

Initial kōrero: Get in touch with us to discuss your communion party date and how many young artists will be attending.
Design the concept: Tell us your child's interests so our artists can prepare some cool sketches or themes for the day.
On-site setup: We arrive at your Rotorua location early to set up the mobile walls, drop cloths, and all the gear.
Safety first: Every kid gets geared up in protective overalls and receives a quick briefing on how to use the cans safely.
Skills session: Our pros teach the kids basic techniques like 'fat' lines, 'skinny' lines, and shading.
The main event: The kids work together (or individually) to bring the big graffiti mural to life with vibrant colours.
Final touches: Our artist helps the kids add those professional outlines and highlights that make the art pop.
Photos and reveal: We take group photos with the finished masterpiece before we pack everything away, leaving no mess behind!

Good to know

We’ve got all the practical stuff sorted so you don’t have to worry about a thing:

Duration: Usually 1.5 to 2 hours of pure creative flow. ⏱️
Group sizes: Suitable for small family gatherings or massive celebrations with 40+ guests.
What’s included: Professional spray cans, protective gear (overalls, gloves, masks), mobile walls or canvases, and expert tuition.
Safety: We use high-quality, low-pressure cans that are easier for kids to handle, plus full PPE. 🛡️
Weather: If the Rotorua rain kicks in, we can move the setup under a marquee or into a well-ventilated garage.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Rotorua isn't just about the stunning geothermal wonders and rich history; it has a burgeoning street art scene that rivals the best in Aotearoa! From the impressive murals in the city centre to the creative energy found in the Government Gardens area, art is part of Rotorua's soul. Our workshops often draw inspiration from the local landscape—think vibrant te ao Māori patterns merged with classic graffiti "wildstyle."

Fun Fact: Rotorua is home to some incredible large-scale murals that celebrate local iwi legends. Ask our artists to show you how to incorporate some of that local "Roto-vegas" flair into your party art! 🌋🖌️

Pricing

Our workshop prices depend on your group size, location, and the specific setup you’re after. Whether it's a small backyard bash or a huge community hall event, we’ve got a package for you.
