Do we need any previous art experience?

Not at all! Our Hamilton graffiti workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our professional artists lead the group through every step, from holding the can correctly to mastering cool effects. It’s all about having a go and expressing yourself in a supportive environment. By the end of the session, even the most hesitant guests will be amazed at the masterpiece they’ve managed to create together.

Is it safe for kids and the family?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for everyone involved. All our spray paints are professional-grade and handled under the supervision of expert artists. While we take every precaution to keep everyone clean, we do recommend that guests wear older clothes and sneakers just in case a bit of 'artistic splatter' happens during the excitement!

How long does the graffiti workshop last?

A standard communion celebration workshop typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us plenty of time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the final creation of your large-scale mural or individual canvases. We find this timeframe is perfect for keeping energy levels high and the excitement buzzing without the little ones getting too tired.

Where in Hamilton do the workshops take place?

We are super flexible! We can host the event at various creative hubs across Hamilton, or if you have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated garage at your home or venue, we can bring the entire studio to you. We just need a bit of space and a wall or mobile boards to spray on. We’ll handle all the set-up and the clean-up afterward.

Do I need to pay a deposit upfront?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'no stress' booking policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront! We believe in the quality of our service, so you only pay after the workshop is completed. This gives you total peace of mind while planning your big event in the Waikato. You can pay via invoice or bank transfer once the paint has dried.

What is included in the workshop package?

We provide everything! This includes a huge range of premium spray cans in every colour of the rainbow, nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective gear, and the 'canvas' (whether that’s a large temporary wall or individual boards). We even bring the inspiration! All you need to bring is your energy and perhaps some snacks and drinks to keep the young artists fuelled up.

Can the adults join in on the fun too?

Absolutely! While celebrations are usually about the kids, we find that the adults often can't resist getting involved. We can structure the session so that it's a collaborative family effort, or set up a separate area where the grown-ups can try their hand at tagging. It’s a fantastic way to bridge the generation gap and get everyone laughing and creating together.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for a communion celebration? It’s the perfect blend of modern fun and meaningful connection. Here’s why Hamilton families love it: 🔥

Uniquely Memorable: It’s not every day you get permission to spray paint a wall! Your guests will be talking about this party for years.
Creative Confidence: We empower kids to realize they can create something beautiful from scratch, boosting their self-esteem. 🏆
All-Inclusive Fun: Whether they are 7 or 70, everyone can pick up a can and contribute to the masterpiece.
Professional Guidance: Our artists aren't just talented; they are great with kids and know how to keep the energy positive.
Stress-Free Planning: From providing the gear to the final clean-up, we handle the logistics so you can focus on the celebration.
Zero Risk: With no deposit required and backup artists on standby, your event is in safe hands. ✌️

Step by step

Pick your date: Check your communion schedule and get in touch with us to reserve your preferred afternoon in Hamilton.
Design the concept: Tell us your child's favorite colours or themes. We can even pre-sketch a 'tag' of their name for the group to fill in!
Safety first: On the day, we start with a quick briefing. Everyone gets suited up in protective gear so the Sunday best stays clean.
Learn the basics: Our pro artists show you the difference between a fat cap and a skinny cap, and how to control your lines.
Practice run: Everyone gets a chance to practice their 'can control' on a test surface to get the feel of the pressure.
The main event: The group works together on a large-scale mural or individual canvases, applying their new skills to create a masterpiece.
Final touches: Our artists help add the sharp outlines and highlights that make the artwork really pop.
Photo op & wrap up: Grab the cameras! We finish with a group photo in front of the art before we handle the entire clean-up process.

Local culture

Hamilton (or Kirikiriroa) has its own unique pulse, and we love bringing that local energy into our workshops. From the vibrant murals found along Victoria Street to the creative spirit of the Waikato River paths, street art is part of our city's modern identity. We draw inspiration from Hamilton's blend of lush green gardens and urban grit to help your guests create something that feels authentically 'H-Town'. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton is home to the Boon Street Art Festival? Our city is literally a giant outdoor gallery, making it the perfect backdrop for your kids to start their journey as mini street artists!
