What actually happens during the VIP graffiti workshop?

Your VIP experience kicks off with a professional safety briefing and an introduction to spray painting techniques. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and overalls to keep your gear clean. Our pro artists guide you through every step, from basic 'can control' to advanced shading and highlights. You'll spend the majority of the time actually painting, ensuring you leave Hamilton with a massive sense of achievement and some serious new skills.

Do I need to be artistic or have painted before?

Nah, you don't need any prior art skills at all! Most of our VIP guests in Hamilton haven't touched a spray can since high school (if ever). Our expert instructors are pros at breaking down complex street art techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Whether you're a stick-figure expert or a hidden Picasso, we'll make sure your final piece looks absolutely legendary. It's all about having a crack and enjoying the process!

What should I wear to my Hamilton graffiti session?

We recommend wearing 'distressable' clothing and comfortable sneakers. While we provide full protective gear—including high-quality overalls, masks, and gloves—graffiti can be a bit unpredictable. It’s best not to wear your brand-new designer kicks or that favourite white linen shirt just in case a stray bit of mist finds its way through. Think casual, comfortable, and ready to get a little bit messy for the sake of art!

What if the Waikato weather doesn't play ball on the day?

The VIP workshop is an all-weather experience. In Hamilton, we have access to epic covered or indoor locations where we can spray rain or shine. You won't have to worry about the Tron's unpredictable weather ruining your creative flow. If there's a major weather event, we'll coordinate with you to ensure the session still goes ahead safely or find a suitable alternative that keeps the vibes high.

How is the VIP experience different from a standard workshop?

The VIP package is our most flexible and premium offering. You get more one-on-one time with a lead artist, higher-grade materials, and a more personalised curriculum. Unlike our standard group workshops, the VIP experience is tailored specifically to your interests—whether that's mastering a specific 3D style or focusing on character design. It’s the ultimate way for individuals or small groups to dive deep into the culture.

How does payment work and do I need to pay upfront?

We make things as easy as possible. You don't need to pay anything upfront when you book your Hamilton session. We believe in our experience so much that you only pay after the workshop is completed. This keeps things stress-free for you. We accept various payment methods, and our cost calculator can give you a quick estimate before you even commit to a date. Professional, easy, and transparent!

How long does the workshop usually last?

Standard VIP sessions usually run between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us plenty of time to cover the history of street art, practice different cap techniques, and complete a full-scale masterpiece on a canvas or wall. We don't like to rush the creative process, so we ensure there's a relaxed pace that allows for plenty of photos, laughs, and focused painting time in the heart of the Waikato.

Local culture

Hamilton (or Kirikiriroatangata) isn't just about the mighty Waikato River and rugby; it’s a city with a rapidly growing heartbeat of urban art. From the stunning murals that decorate the CBD to the hidden gems in the industrial corners of Frankton, street art is woven into the city's fabric. Our VIP workshops tap into this local energy, often taking place in spaces that breathe that authentic Hamilton vibe.

Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton hosts the 'Boon Street Art Festival'? It has transformed dozens of drab walls into world-class canvases, making the city a genuine destination for street art lovers in New Zealand. 🇳🇿

When you join us for a session, you're not just painting; you're joining a lineage of local creators who have helped turn the Tron into a colourful, creative hub. We love sharing stories about the local legends of the Hamilton scene while you master your fade techniques.

Pricing

Investment in your creativity

Our VIP Hamilton experiences are priced between NZ$45 and NZ$95 per person. This variation depends on the length of your session, the materials used, and whether you're working on a private wall or take-home canvases.

We pride ourselves on being accessible while offering a premium service. Remember, there's no upfront payment required—you only pay once the paint has dried and you're stoked with the result!
