Is the paint safe to use around food stalls?

Absolutely! We use high-quality, low-odour water-based spray paints for our food festival setups to ensure a pleasant environment for diners. Safety is our top priority, so we provide all necessary protective gear, including gloves and masks. Our professional artists supervise every step, ensuring that the 'creative mess' stays on the canvases and doesn't end up on your chips!🎨

What happens if it rains during the Hamilton food festival?

While we love a bit of Kiwi rain, most of our outdoor setups require dry conditions for the paint to adhere properly. If the Hamilton clouds open up, we can easily move the activation under a marquee or provide a portable indoor 'graffiti wall' setup. We always have a backup plan ready to ensure the festival spirit stays high regardless of the Waikato weather.☁️

How long does a creative session typically last?

Our food festival workshops are super flexible! Most individual 'intro' sessions last between 15 to 30 minutes, allowing people to rotate through and keep the festival flow moving. For a more structured group workshop, we usually recommend 1.5 to 2 hours. This ensures everyone gets a turn without missing out on the gourmet treats nearby!🍔

Can festival-goers take their artwork home?

One of the best parts about our food festival activations is that you get to keep what you create! Once the paint is touch-dry, guests can take their custom canvas home as a unique souvenir of their day in Hamilton. It’s much more permanent than a full belly, and a great way to remember the event.✨

Do I need any prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our professional street artists specialize in helping beginners find their groove. We provide stencils, templates, and hands-on guidance to help anyone—from kids to grandparents—create something they’re proud of. It’s all about the experience and having a go, not being the next Banksy (though we’ll help you try!).🎨

Is this activity suitable for children and families?

We usually recommend our spray paint workshops for ages 6 and up, though younger kids can join with a bit of help from mum or dad. We use specialized 'skinny' nozzles that are easier for smaller hands to press, ensuring that everyone can participate in the creative fun safely and comfortably. It’s a massive hit with the Waikato families!👨👩👧👦

What are the payment terms for festival organisers?

No upfront payment is required to lock in your date! We believe in the quality of our service and want you to feel 100% confident. You can settle the bill after the workshop once you've seen the smiles and the finished art. This makes it super easy for festival organisers to manage their budgets without stress.✅

Local culture

Hamilton is more than just the gateway to the Waikato; it's a city with a rapidly growing urban art heartbeat. From the iconic murals lining the walls of Victoria Street to the hidden gems in the CBD's alleyways, the 'Tron' has fully embraced street culture. Our workshops tap into this local energy, bringing the same creative spirit found at the Boon Street Art Festival directly to your food event.

Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton’s street art scene is so vibrant that there are dedicated walking tours just to see the murals? By adding a graffiti workshop to your food festival, you’re letting people join that rich local tradition! 🌳
