What happens if it rains during the live painting session?

Our artists are prepared for Hamilton's unpredictable weather! If your event is outdoors, we usually require a marquee or covered area to protect both the artwork and the electronics. If the weather gets truly wild, we can often move the performance indoors using low-odour, water-based spray paints or paint markers that are perfectly safe for well-ventilated indoor venues. We always have a 'Plan B' ready to go.

Can my guests actually help with the painting?

Absolutely! While the artist brings their professional flair, we love it when guests want to get involved. We can set up a 'community canvas' section where your friends, family, or colleagues can grab a can and add a stroke under the guidance of our pro. It’s a fantastic way to break the ice and make the event truly interactive and memorable for everyone involved.

How long does it take to set up and pack down? provincial?

We usually need about 60 to 90 minutes for setup. This involves laying down protective flooring, setting up the boards or canvases, and prepping our gear. After the performance, pack-down takes about 45 minutes. We handle everything from start to finish, ensuring the venue is left exactly as we found it—except, of course, for the stunning new piece of art you get to keep!

Do we get to keep the artwork after the event?

One of the best parts of our Hamilton live painting service is that you own the finished product! Whether it’s a large-scale wooden mural or a high-quality stretched canvas, the artwork is yours to hang in your office, home, or community centre. It serves as a lasting legacy of your event and a constant reminder of the creative energy shared that day.

Is it messy or smelly for an indoor event?

Safety is our top priority. We use drop cloths and high-quality masking to ensure no overspray hits the venue's floors or walls. For indoor events, we use specialised low-VOC (volatile organic compound) paints that don't have the harsh smell of traditional spray cans. Plus, our artists are fully insured and experienced in working within busy event environments safely.

What kind of styles can the artists paint?

The choice is yours! While we thrive on the raw energy of urban graffiti style, our Hamilton artists are incredibly versatile. We can produce anything from photorealistic portraits and local landscapes (like the Waikato River) to clean, graphic brand logos or abstract patterns. During the briefing stage, we'll discuss your vision to ensure the art matches your event's vibe perfectly.

Local culture

Hamilton (Kirikiriroa) has grown into a massive hub for creativity, famously hosting the 'Boon Street Art Festival' which has turned our city walls into an open-air gallery. From the stunning murals in Lovegrove Lane to the hidden gems in the CBD alleys, "the Trunk" is well and truly alive with urban art culture. We bring that same local spirit and passion to your specific event, celebrating the unique Kirikiriroa vibe. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Hamilton is home to some of the most concentrated street art in New Zealand? Our local artists are deeply connected to the Waikato landscape, often weaving local flora and fauna into their modern graffiti designs!
