What exactly is live painting and how does it work?

Live painting is a dynamic performance where our artists create a large-scale piece of graffiti or street art from scratch during your event. In Auckland, this is a hit for everything from product launches to private parties. It provides a visual focal point and a 'wow' factor that keeps guests engaged as they watch the masterpiece evolve throughout the day or night.🎨

Is live painting messy or smelly for indoor events?

Don't worry about the mess! We handle all the prep and protection. Our team uses drop cloths and specialized screening to ensure the Auckland venue remains pristine. We can also use low-odour, water-based spray paints if your event is indoors, ensuring a comfortable environment for your guests while still delivering that authentic street art look.✨

Can we choose what the artist paints?

While we love the raw energy of freestyle, we usually work with you beforehand to settle on a theme, colour palette, or specific branding. Whether you want a Kiwi-inspired landscape or a bold corporate logo, our Auckland artists tailor the design to match your event's vibe perfectly. You get the final say on the creative direction!🎨

How long does a live painting session usually last?

Our standard live painting performances in Auckland typically run between 2 and 5 hours. However, we are totally flexible! If you have a multi-day festival or a quick 1-hour brand activation, we can scale the complexity of the artwork and the number of artists to fit your specific schedule. We work around your timeline.⏱️

Do we get to keep the artwork after the event?

Absolutely! The finished mural belongs to you. Many Auckland businesses choose to keep the canvas to hang in their office or shop after the event. It serves as a lasting memory of the day and a unique piece of custom decor. We can paint on high-quality canvas, wooden panels, or even temporary walls.🏆

What are the costs involved for an Auckland event?

Price varies based on the duration, the size of the artwork, and the materials required. In Auckland, our live painting services generally range from NZ$45 to NZ$95 per person if we are doing an interactive session, or a flat commission fee for performance-only sets. We always recommend getting a custom quote for the most accurate pricing!💰

What happens if it rains during an outdoor session?

We’re ready for the Auckland weather! If your event is outdoors and it starts to drizzle, we usually set up under a marquee or gazebo. If the weather gets truly gnarly, we can often pivot to an indoor setup or reschedule. Our goal is to ensure the performance goes off without a hitch, rain or shine.☔

Local culture

Auckland's street art scene is exploding, from the hidden gems in Karangahape Road to the towering murals in the Wynyard Quarter. We draw inspiration from the city's unique blend of Pacific heritage and urban grit. Our live painting captures that 'Tāmaki Makaurau' vibe—bold, diverse, and always evolving.

Fun fact: Did you know Auckland is home to several legal 'graffiti walls' where the next generation of Kiwi artists hone their craft? We bring that authentic street culture to your private event! 🎨
